Ayanakoji Kiyotaka's POV:
On the night of the third day, I entered one of the largest baths available to find a group of boys huddled around a corner which included Yamauchi, Ike and some students from class B.
I ended up exchanging glances with Kanzaki who happened to enter the bath at the same time as me. After Christmas, Kanzaki and Maaya's relationship pretty much went back to normal.
I do have my doubts. Its not that I completely trust them or anything. There is still a small part of me that constantly doubts Maaya's intentions. Could it be a personal vendetta against 'that man'? I couldnt tell with the information I have at hand.
But there is one fact that remains unchangeable, Maaya is absolutely dangerous. She is a more of a threat than Sakayanagi can ever hope to be. She is someone you would rather stand beside than against.
I came to this school wanting to experience a normal high school life but with Maaya around, it has been normal and mysterious at the same time. I have been experiencing a whole lot of feelings ever since she entered my life.
I have always wondered how exactly I would feel if Maaya's so called love for me turned out to be a farce. On the off chance that Maaya does turn out to be fake, I am still not sure what to do to shut her up because I know expelling her doesnt make her any less of a threat.
As I said earlier, she is someone I would rather have beside me than against me. The strange thing about all this is, I think about the possibility of that happening only when she is not around me.
The more I spend time with her and gaze into those ruby orbs of hers, that unfamiliar emotion that she holds in her eyes every time she looks at me makes me want to completely believe that there is a person on this world who actually loves me for who I am.
"This seems like an unusual gathering." Kanzaki's voice broke me from my thoughts as I followed his gaze to the same group of boys I noticed earlier. "Seems like it." I replied.
Ever since Kanzaki started talking with Maaya again, he doesnt actively run away everytime he sees me. We share a nod of awknowlegement everytime we cross paths or some small conversations like these if we happen to share the same space for more than a minute.
"What about your group? Any troubles in particular?" He asked. "I dont know. I dont think I can say its going very well." I answered frankly which he seems to have accepted without a hint of surprise.
"I heard about it from Moriyama and the others. Seems like you have your hands full with Kouenji." He stated before sighing a bit.
"He has always been a handful. Even his parents have a hard time keeping him in check. Maaya was the only one he listened to when we were kids but that too didnt last long when the time the siblings spent together became less due to... you know what." He continued, I nodded knowing he was talking about Maaya's career as The Angel.
Maaya has mentioned before that the time she spent with her family became less after she became really famous and she was grateful for this break cause she gets to spend time with her brother who is apparently her favourite family member.
"If there is anything troubling you, feel free to consult me not only because of Maaya but because I would like to maintain good relations with Class C as well and ofcourse Ichinose feels the same." He said and before I could reply Shibata of class B spotted Kanzaki.
"Hey Kanzaki! Over here!" Shibata called which made Yamauchi notice me. "Ayanakoji! You come join us too." He beckoned me over. Since the mood here wont allow me to decline, I approached.
"Whats the matter?" Kanzaki asked Shibata. "No man, the thing is, we are talking about who is the biggest one in our school year is." Shibata replied. "One? What does that supposed to mean?" Kanzaki questioned which earned a laugh from Shibata as he pointed the center of the towel covering his groin.
