Chapter five
𝖇𝖔𝖙𝖍 𝖉𝖊𝖒𝖆𝖓𝖉 𝖇𝖑𝖔𝖔𝖉

"PRINCE LUCERYS VELARYON!" a knight shouted as a young, brunette boy walked in the castle. Maraena looked at him with confusion on her face, but when the boy looked towards her and Aemond's side he panicked, but didn't show it and immediately turned his eyes to Lord Borros Baratheon.

Maraena had more than enough time to feel the extreme fear that young man had for Aemond. Her gaze turned to the man next to her, who didn't take his eye of the boy, looking at him up and down with an arrogant look. "Son of Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen!" the knight continued, leaving Maraena speechless.

"But how?" Maraena whispered to Aemond, while looking at Lucerys. "My bastard nephew." Anemone whispered back, emphasizing the word bastard. "Didn't she marry Daemon?" Maraena questioned, but before she could get an answer, Luce spoke.

"Lord Borros. I brought you a message from my mother. The Queen."

Maraena chuckled quietly at his words. "Rhaenyra's a whore, remember? That's why he has brown hair." Aemond answered to her last question, as she laughed, making everyone to look at her. She immediately stopped and let the brunette boy continue.

"Yet earlier this day I received an Envoy from the King. Which is it? King or Queen? The House of the Dragon does not seem to know who rules it." Lord Borros Baratheon laughed.

Lucerys looked down before looking at Maraena and Aemond again. Both of them were angry at each other, but Luce's reaction was mixed with fear. Maraena wanted to believe that it was because of the Greens and Blacks rivalry but she somehow knew that wasn't true. Trying to study their eyes, Maraena finally understood. She don't know how but she did.

That was the realization no one knew would be so devastating.

"He took your eye, didn't he, Aemond?"

Aemond side eyed her and then looked back at the Velaryon boy. "Mmm." he admitted.

"And all you do is standing there watching him?"

"I don't think I am in the position to do anything else."

Maraena knew how stubborn Aemond can be. It runs in the family. But she always gets what she wants. "Do you care more about that, than pleasuring your mother and you?" Maraena's question made Aemond to turn his attention to her, looking at the girl with the emotionless face.

"Don't try to act emotionless. If you really were that boy would be dead by now. But you have feelings, Aemond, and they make you weak."

Aemond grabbed her boy her collar with one hand, pulling her closer. "I dare to say that again." he whispered.
