Y/N'S POV
"We're on the way there... Yes, Ascension Saint Thomas..." I hear Andrea's faint voice as my eyes begin to adjust to the bright light around us. The constant feeling of being slightly rocked side to side lets me know I'm in an ambulance at the moment. The siren is muffled, but Andrea's voice talking to the person on the phone serves as a reminder that I am in fact, alive and not alone.
"No, she's still unconscious... She was vomiting blood, Scott! I didn't know what to do..." She cries out, her voice remaining panicked.
A few moments of silence go by as she listens to the other end of the phone before she speaks up.
"No, you can't tell Taylor. Not yet. We don't know what's wrong. I don't want her to be freaked out more than I already am..... Yes, I know we need to tell her, Scott! Let's just get to the hospital first!" Andrea struggles to keep her composure as she tries to formulate a plan.
I wish I could say I agree with her, but I don't. I want her to tell Taylor. The sooner she knows, the quicker she can be with me.
"Three minutes out" I hear a voice from behind me say. That must be the paramedic. They don't sound stressed or worried... maybe I shouldn't be either?
"Scott, we're three minutes away...... I don't care what you have to say to get them in the car with you! Tell them on the way here, for Christ's sake! If something happens and Taylor isn't here... God, it's making me sick just thinking about it... Just meet us here as fast as you can..... What do you mean you're almost an hour away!? Where the hell are you!? Jesus, Scott! I don't care what you have to do, just get here!!" Andrea says with animosity, clearly letting her emotions get the best of her before hanging up.
I feel the ambulance slow down as we approach the hospital. Andrea rubs my arms comfortingly, tears welling up in her eyes as she looks down at me, noticing that I'm awake.
"You're gonna be okay, sweetheart. I'm right here... I'm right here" She tries to reassure me, but I don't know if she fully believes what she's saying. She's obviously really worried.
"Can you call Taylor? I want Taylor" I speak up, my voice sounding foreign to me.
"Scott will tell her, honey. Don't worry about that right now. You're gonna be okay" Andrea dismisses as she wipes her tears with her free hand.
The paramedic behind me stands up as the ambulance comes to a stop. He opens the door before wheeling me out and through the emergency room doors. The abrupt movement hurts my body more and I'm quickly reminded of the events that happened to me previously as the pain announces itself again. Unable to focus on anything around me, I clench my side again, hollering in pain.
What the fuck is happening to me?!
The nurses and doctors swarm around me as the paramedics transfer me to the hospital bed before leaving the room. I hear the staff asking me questions about my pain and history, but I can't bring myself to speak full sentences as the aching distress in my abdomen consumes me.
From what I can comprehend, Andrea tries to answer the questions as best she can, but I can't even concentrate on anything at this point. The next thing I know, I'm being moved to an imaging room as the staff tells Andrea to wait where she is.
"I'll be right here, Y/m/n! I'm not going anywhere, sweetheart! You're going to be okay!" She tries to remain positive.
As positive as her affirmations are, all I can think about is Taylor.
I wish Taylor was here...
"Okay, Ms. Y/l/n. We're going to do a quick endoscopy test to figure out where this bleeding is coming from, okay? You'll be under anesthesia, so you won't feel a thing" The doctor says as technicians set up the room around me.
