The sensation of veins pulsing distinctly at his fingertips.

Baek Yuseol locked eyes with the magic archer who had met their death by his hands.

He felt no guilt over his first kill. No, he didn't even have the time to feel it.

He had killed just to survive.

"What, what's that guy doing! Is that really Blink?!"

The leader-type warrior shouted upon seeing Baek Yuseol's swift movements.

"He's using some kind of special maneuver! Hurry up and kill him!"

The cooldown for Blink hadn't yet reset. Baek Yuseol kicked the archer's corpse away with a powerful shove.

Thunk! Swoosh!

"Ugh!"

"Argh!"

The spray of blood from the corpse obstructed the view of those approaching him, and one even tripped over the body.

In a hurry, Baek Yuseol rolled on the ground, grabbing the archer's arrows, and used Blink toward a branch positioned diagonally above.

Thud!

"Ugh!"

Since it was his first time using Blink upwards, he momentarily misjudged the distance, slipping off the branch.

Struggling to hold onto the branch with one hand, he exerted all his strength, and surprisingly strong shoulder and back muscles lifted his body up onto the tree.

Without even having time to notch an arrow, he quickly hid behind the tree trunk as a fireball flew and hit the tree.

Boom!!

The small explosion significantly shaved off the top of the tree, but the fire did not catch. Perhaps because of the snowfall, the tree was moist.

Screech-

Baek Yuseol notched an arrow and used Blink to the opposite branch, then adjusted his aim to shoot an arrow at the back of the clumsy spear-wielder who was chasing his afterimage.

Thud!

"Arghhhh! My foot, ughhh!"

Did I miss?

The arrow hit his foot, probably because the aim wasn't accurate. Despite the arrows in this world having some degree of "aim assist" magic, it was purely luck that he managed to hit the foot, given he had never fired an arrow in his life.

Still, it immobilized him, so on to the next.

Whoosh! Another fireball came flying, but Baek Yuseol leaped down from the tree without hesitation.

"Th-there...!"

The height was considerable, and a bad fall could result in broken bones. The opponent standing in the spot where Baek Yuseol was falling raised both arms in anticipation of the impact, but Baek Yuseol precisely thrust his knife into the gap between those arms.

Crack! The sound was more akin to a collision than a mere stabbing. Just before crashing to the ground, Baek Yuseol forced his body upright and used Blink toward the front.
