Knuckles & Y/n/Sonic the hedgehog 2, 𝗞𝗻𝘂𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗲'𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿!𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿

𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝟭𝟯

The siblings sat down at the bench as they waited for Wade. He came to them with trays of food. he was even doing a his little happy dance.
"I think after all that running, we deserve a little snack."

He placed two trays down. One for Knuckles and one for Y/n. The warm aroma that filled her her nose smelled really good. Everything on the trip was more than just a snack. It's full course meal.
Thinking about it, after all that running in the bowling alley and staying in a cage kind of a long time, she was a bit hungry.

"I only eat grapes and cool Ranch Doritos." Knuckles told Wade.
"Yeah, he's weird."
Y/n open the cardboard case to reveal a delicious burger in there and without hesitation, she began to eat it as she made some munching sounds.
Knuckles turn to her, unamused, then looked back at Wade.

"Okay, well, that explains your insane and erratic behavior." Wade grabbed his first meal.
"Now, come on let's eat, bubba."
Even open the lid of the box.

"So, I was thinking about how I rescued you before. On a scale of one to warrior. Where does Wade fall?" He asked.

Y/n stopped mid chewing and opens her eyes. She looks over at Knuckles, who only growled in response.
"No biggie. You can tell me after we eat. let's have a little victory feast for the boys, huh?"
He then realized Y/n, whom just continue chewing.
"And gal."

Y/n smiled.
"What victory? we won nothing tonight." Knuckles said.
"Mh, correct" Wade agreed.
"We were taken prisoner because of your failures in battle."

Y/n stopped chewing and swallowed and looked at her brother in disbelief.
"Mm, that's also true." Wade sang.

"We were nearly killed several times." Knuckles listed another.
"And once again, correct" Wade said. Y/n could hear the disappointment and Wade's voice as he kept repeating that same sentence.

"And the only reason we survived at all was pure luck. None of these words would be used to describe a victory or a warrior."

"Knuckles"
Y/n said, not happy of what he was saying to Wade.
"He did try. not exactly as you expected but he went all this way to save us and we're okay."
Wade nodded slightly.
"Y/n's right, some of the things you just said might have happened, but you're looking at it the wrong way Knuckles. My dad taught me to take what you can and enjoy it. Nine out of 10 warriors would call that a victory it might not have been pretty, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a.."

"Glorious victory!" Knuckles finished.
"Now, you're getting it! let's dig in. this is gonna flop your little red braids up and down." Wade begin to take a bite out of his sandwich.
Y/n continue to feast on hers too.

"Wade Whipple." Knuckles begin.
"You wish to be a warrior."
Wade nodded.
"Yet, you hail from Green hills a place where there are no warrior clans, so why do you want to remain here?"

Wade took a second. Then replied.
"I guess...Green hills has always been my home. I mean, there must be someplace in the universe that's like that for you. Right?"

Y/n's Face sadden as she looked at her brother that began to explain story about their tribe story. Since Knuckles knew what happened to the whole thing and she was too young to even know what's going on at that time.
"Since the lost of our tribe, I have journey across with my sister in my arms in every corner of the galaxy. Seen planets and stars you can only dream of."
He sighs. He can recall the memory of little him, just walking to every place in the universe while caring a baby Y/n.

"But nowhere I have called home." His face turned sad as you look down. Seeing her brother, like this, just breaks her heart. She placed her hand on his arm to reassure him. His face then softened when he looked at her.
