"Are you boys all ready for this?" Johnny questioned, crouching down in front of the boys and helping Mark to get his backpack on.
"I don't see why we have to go to a new school" Jaehyun responded, tying his shoe.
"Because we're all too young to be taking the train alone" Taeyong reminded him, flicking the younger in the head. Johnny gave him a warning look and Taeyong folded his arms.
"What Taeyong said is true. You're too young to be taking the train alone which is why you had to move schools to somewhere closer" Johnny fixed Jungwoo's jacket, smoothing it out.
"I'm not. Lots of kids take the train by themselves" Jaehyun argued.
"Not you" Johnny wouldn't change his mind, even though he knew that Jaehyun was trying to get him to.
"Why not?" Jaehyun wondered. Johnny glanced up at him, not saying anything. Jaehyun huffed and looked to the side.
"If we're old enough to have phones, then we should be old enough to take the train alone" Yuta interrupted. Johnny smoothed down his hair, ignoring the boy's dirty looks.
"Those are for emergencies only and not are to be used during school. Is that clear?" Johnny lectured, giving a pointed look to the oldest two. Taeyong and Yuta nodded.
"Emergencies like taking the train to school?" Yuta guessed, dodging the swat that Johnny aimed at him.
"Nobody is taking the train to school! Now get in the car" Johnny stood up again, handing Haechan his backpack and picking up the youngest to carry him out to the car. It didn't take long until he had all of the kids at school and went home to get some independent work done. Around two hours later, his phone lit up with a text and he looked at it, hoping that it was not Taeyong or Yuta.
Taeyong: Help. Me
Johnny: Are you in danger???
Taeyong: Yes. In danger of being embarrassed
Johnny rolled his eyes but answered anyway. Of course, Taeyong would be the one to text Johnny in the middle of class because he was worried about being embarrassed.
Johnny: That's not a real danger, Taeyong. This phone is for emergencies and is not to be used during school for anything other than emergency. Do you want to have your phone taken away for the next week?
Taeyong: ☹️
Johnny: Alright fine. What's the problem?
Taeyong: Yuta is being a clown. I think the teacher is going to send him to the principal's office
Johnny put the phone down, leaning back in his seat. How did someone get in trouble on the very first day of school? Although he shouldn't have been surprised that it was Yuta. He got so zoned out that he didn't even hear his phone being spammed with texts from Taeyong for several long moments. When he did pick it up, only two texts stood out to him. The first said that Yuta had been sent out of the class for causing a disturbance and the second was a lot longer and obviously not written by an ten-year-old kid. Johnny took a moment to read it.
Dear Mr. Suh, I hope that in the future, you will refrain from messaging a child in the middle of the class no matter the circumstances. Given that your charge, Lee Taeyong, broke the student code we will be confiscating his phone and holding it until the end of the day. I will have it sent to the front office where you may pick it up once school is out. A repeat offense will result in harsher consequences being handed out.
Johnny sighed, feeling overwhelmed. He didn't get a break yet as his phone started to ring with a call from the elementary school and he didn't hesitate to answer it.
