Camp Falls

Chapter 6

"Ugh,"Ruby grumbled,"My stomach hurts."

"I told you we never should've eaten that candy."I said

Now Ruby and I were incredibly nauseous and had probably been hallucinating for about 20 minutes.Candy had never sounded more disgusting than now.

"Did it wear off yet?"Mabel's face came into view,and that's when I realized.We were in the main cabin sitting on the floor against the wall.I had never been in the main cabin and I don't think that many people had either.

I blinked a few times,"Well I'm not hallucinating skittle forests anymore so I think so."

Mabel laughed,"Smile dip does that,where'd so many people get it from anyway?"

"I gave it to him,"Ruby muttered,"I bought it from someone but I didn't know it did that."

"Who'd you buy it from?"Mabel asked

"Don't know their name,"Ruby said.

Mabel frowned,"If you find out,please tell me who.Smile dip was banned in America for a reason."

"Okay,"

"You can go back outside now if you want."She said,"Just don't ever eat smile dip again."

I think we learned that the hard way.

We hadn't been the only people stupid enough to eat smile dip.Apparently 10 other kids had too.Maybe it was because it had looked really delicious before,but now it sure didn't.Now,I wanted to watch that stuff burn.

I'm pretty sure the whole day Ruby was trying not to puke.

Luckily the next day was pretty fun.

At least for a little bit.

We were split into groups of 10 and 3 new people came too.I think their names were Kelly,Gretel, and Zeus,who kind of looked like a man baby.Ruby and I were in Zeus's group.

"Okay dude's,"he said before we left camp,"This is going to have the best night ever!"

I later found out that his name was actually Soos,and that the other two people were named Candy and Grenda.I also learned that Soos and Dipper liked blowing up hot dogs in the microwave one by one.I'm going to have to try that at some point.

However as it got later I started to realize that a lot of people were losing their candy.Even some of the people in our group.

I thought that maybe the people in our group just misplaced things a lot.Until Phoebe lost her candy.

And then Ruby did too.

"This is strange,"this one kid with glasses and ginger colored hair had said.

It started to rain and Soos took us to his house nearby.It turns out that he ran a tourist trap known as the Mystery Shack.

He was unlocking the front door when I put my candy down and turned around for just a second.

When I looked back I saw something small dashing away with it.

"Hey wait,"Ruby said,"There it is again."and without warning she chased after it into the forest around us. Confused, I followed her into the woods.

"Ruby what are you doing!?" I exclaimed as we entered the forest. But I did not need an explanation because I soon saw the shadow dash with something in its hands, some sort of bag. It was now raining harder and a light fog set in. But it was too late going back now because Ruby and I saw the shadow in the distance, and guess what it had? A sack of candy! "Ruby, that's the missing summerween candy!" I exclaimed. "I know! And look it's a rabbit that's been stealing our candy" Ruby said pointing to the figure in the distance.

It did indeed look like a rabbit and it was confirmed when we got closer to it. But it was no ordinary rabbit, it had antlers. This freaked me out a lot but Ruby thought it looked cute. I kept telling her it didn't look safe but she insisted that it was just a rabbit with antlers and that it could do nothing too crazy.

Ruby being Ruby decided to pet it and take the candy away. "Hey little g-" not even half way through the rabbit bit Ruby on the finger and she shrieked. "RUBY!!" I looked at her bleeding finger and back at the rabbit. Except, there was no rabbit anymore, within a lightning flash it was gone.

This is when the day stopped being fun.

I stood up and tried looking for it but memories suddenly came rushing into my head about an evil cryptid Dipper told me about that takes the form of a rabbit with antlers. What was it called again? Oh no, we just encountered the CANTALOUPE , wait no, the JACKALOPE. "Ruby! We just encountered the jackalope!" I yelled at her. But Ruby was gone without a trace. "Ruby?" I looked around everywhere but I saw no Ruby. Oh no, this was bad, this was really bad. But I was filled with hope at the sudden voice of Ruby. The voice seemed to be coming from around a tree. But when I looked around it I was smacked in the face with a sack of candy. I fell to the ground and looked at the sack of candy. I was at least a little relieved because now I had retrieved what we came for.

But guess what? It wasn't even candy! It was a sack of rocks! "I'm gonna kill this rabbit" I said to myself as I lifted myself up. Suddenly my very own voice rebounded back to me "I'm gonna kill this rabbit". "What the?!" I yelled into the forest. "What the?!" The forest yelled back. "Show yourself!" I yelled again at the forest. This must be one of the jackalopes tricks. As expected, my voice came back saying the same thing. "Stop playing tricks on me!" This time I yelled with more anger at this stupid cantaloupe.

I was waiting for my own voice to come back but it never did. Instead I heard a deeper, more ominous voice. "Lloyd, you're better than this, you shouldn't be friends with that Ruby, she's less intelligent and you know it". I felt sick in the stomach. Ruby was my best friend, although at times I felt she was the reason why she was my only friend. What were you thinking Lloyd? You shouldn't be thinking like this about Ruby, your best friend. Sense hit me like a train, "No! Ruby may be goofy at times, but she's my best friend, and I'll always defend her!" I threw a rock into the dark forest.

Suddenly, a familiar shape came into place. The shadow of the agropelter. I slowly backed away as it roared its iconic shriek and started chasing me. I ran away into the mist when I started to see a silhouette. "Ruby?" I asked the silhouette before they completely punched me in the face and I fell to the ground. "Lloyd! Are you okay? I'm so sorry!" Ruby exclaimed and helped pull me up. "That rabbit kept mimicking your voice and started mimicking mine and and-" for the first time ever I hugged Ruby without being awkward about it. That didn't last long though, as I quickly realized what I was doing and quickly let go. "I'm sorry, I just-uh,kinda scared of that forest now." I reassured her. "It's fine, that's a first!" She nudged her elbow. The scene didn't last long, as we saw the jackalope dash across us with a large sack of candy. Ruby and I tried chasing it but it was way too fast for us. Ruby and I both tripped and fell hard on the wet ground. It turned around and snickered and chuckled, things I didn't even know rabbits could do. Luckily, while it was making fun of us, it wasn't paying attention, and fell right into the hands of none other than Phoebe Wren.
