In the silence of our busiest hours,
We forget to live, to love, to breathe.
We chase the shadows of fleeting powers,
And lose the beauty that our souls need.We forget the laughter of our children's eyes,
The warmth of touch, the whispers of goodbyes.
We forget the dreams that once set our hearts ablaze,
And let the fire of hope dwindle to gray.We forget the love that once healed our deepest scars,
The gentle hands that wiped away our tears.
We forget the moments that made life worth living for,
And let the noise of the world drown out our hearts' roar. But when we're left with just a fading light,
And the darkness closes in, and the end is in sight.
We remember the love, the laughter, and the tears,
And the memories we forgot through all the years. So let us not forget, let us not lose our way,
Let us hold on to love, come what may.
For in the end, it's not the years we live,
But the life we live in the years, that we give.
