Maybe they got a little carried away that morning. The twins made a point to make her scream in front of the fireplace, then in the kitchen, and then again in the shower. They said they wanted to make her cum for every birthday she's ever had. Twenty one seemed like a lot, and she didn't think they were serious until they started up again in the bedroom.

By the time they did reach the training grounds, her mother was already packing up the weights and practice equipment back into their storage boxes. She didn't train with the Alpha sons, but she liked to watch them train.

Her mother used to run the same drills with her, and still did. For a human, Selena was pretty strong and an excellent fighter. Her mother taught her everything she knows, even more than what she taught the young wolves in training class. If it weren't for her lack of wolf strength, Selena would probably be able to take on most of the clan.

Only the Alpha's sons and the Beta's would pose a challenge skill wise. Sometimes she wrestled with the twins just for fun. She was able to put her entire weight behind her punches and takedowns without fear of hurting them. Asa liked some bedroom wrestling.

But when it came to training, she was kept out of it. Her mother ran the twins through rigorous sessions that required focus and concentration every second. They couldn't worry about holding back and not hurting her because she was mortal.

Her mother didn't say much when they arrived. She merely frowned. Well, happy birthday, Selena thought.

"I don't want to hear why you're late. Frankly I don't care. It's your loss, but it's also my time. If it happens again, you'll have to find yourself another trainer. Am I clear?"

Her mother was frightening when she was in trainer mode. It's almost like she was replaced with a stone cold drill sergeant. The boys nodded quickly and timidly, all ounce of that alpha confidence gone.

They knew Alpha Magnus would have some things to say if Beta Anastasiya decided to stop training them, for whatever reason. She was right though, this was entirely for their benefit. They should have known better.

"Yes ma'am." They both said in unison.

Satisfied with their answer, her mother turned to her with a glowing smile, her trainer facade dropped like it never existed. "Come here my big girl!" She beckoned gleefully, arms out.

Selena melted into her mothers arms.

"Happy birthday, beautiful girl." She whispered into Selena's ear.

Selena wasn't really expecting anything from her mother, so she was surprised when her mother pulled her away to the seats where her personal gym bag was. Inside the bag was a black box with a black ribbon she gave to Selena.

"Mum...you didn't have to..." Selena said quietly.

She had never really been a big fan of the birthday celebration since her father passed away. Even Christmas and Thanksgiving didn't entirely feel the same without him. The whole art of gift giving just reminded her that he wasn't there anymore, that he missed yet another birthday, another Christmas, another celebration.

Because she knows that he would have given her the entire world had he been there. All she wanted was to give him another chance.

"Technically I didn't. I've had this for a long time, I've just been waiting for the right moment. Open it, baby." Her mother encouraged, kissing her head.

Selena smiled crookedly. She could see both twins being nosey, watching from a distance, standing on their tip toes and trying to use each other for height to get a glimpse inside the box. She scowled playfully at them.
