Maegor was asleep when he was woken up by a servant telling him that he had been summoned into Driftmarks throne room, Maegor was confused about why he was being summoned but he woke up nonetheless and got dressed the servants and guard led him, Maegor started to get nervous as he heard shouting when he entered he saw his younger sisters faces, Have marks all over them, Maegor rushed in it would seem he was the first one to enter the room
" Rhaena, Baela what happened?" Maegor asked his sisters as he inspected their faces, Maegors only thought was that his father would kill him, not punish him for not protecting them. Maegor looked around and saw his cousin Jace Lucerys and Vissera . His cousins Jace and Luke were beaten up pretty badly while the two other girls had markings on their faces as well signs of a beating it was then that Maegor looked to the chair and saw the young Aemond sitting in the chair with his eye cut off gone, Maegor looked to Baela motioning with his eyes asking if they did this she shook her head, Maegor stood up and looked towards the king and asked
"Your majesty would you please enlighten me on what took place this night" Maegor said bowing his head slightly but they were interrupted when Rhaenys and Corlys came rushing big
" What is the meaning of this?" He asked as he came rushing down the stairs
" Baela, Rhaena! What happened?" Rhaenys questioned the two girls ran into their grandmother's arms, Just as princess Rhaenyra came rushing in calling out her children's names, Maegor noticed that his father was following right behind her, Maegor felt disgusted for he had just lost his mother but stood silently beside his sisters his father motioned him beside him telling him that this was one they will listen
" He attacked me" Aemond shouted
" He attacked Vissera and Baela! He broke Luke's nose! ''The boys shouted and soon children were arguing which caused Maegors head to hurt.
" He called us bastards," Jaecrye said to his mother but Maegor was even more confused because that was what the boys were, "Bastards" But that didn't make them any less Targaryen they had dragons that were enough for them, Viserys silenced the children and asked Aemond what happened but the Queen Alicent wouldn't let the boy speak Maegor thought that the boy was hiding behind his mother's skirts he needed to grow.
" Accident? Prince Lucerys brought a blade to the ambush, he meant to kill my son." Alicent said
" It was my sons who were attacked and forced to defend themselves. Vile insults were levied against them." Rhaenrya said
" What insults?" The king asked
" The legitimacy of my son's birth was loudly questioned," Rhaenrya spoke again, Maegor started to smirk because the woman was playing her cards right
"What?" The king said
" He called us bastards' Prince Jasceys spoke again, and then Rhaenyra started to continue about how it was treason. the king then asked Aemond where he heard those insults from, The boy's mother spoke for him again but was soon cut off by the king,who asked Aemond again, Aemond blamed it on his older brother Aegon, The king then asked Aegon where he heard those insults from and the boy told the king that everyone knows it.
From what Maegor could tell so far , this fight happened because the boy Aemond Claimed Vhagar. Maegor should be angry but if that is who the she-dragon chose as her rider what can he do, he was rather upset that his sisters were beaten a bit but this would be their first battle, they will have many more to come. Maegor was cut out of his thought when he heard the king starting to shout again
"Silence! This interminable infighting must cease! WE ARE FAMILY! Now make your apologies and show goodwill to one another. Your father, Your grandsire Your King demands it!" but Alicent then spoke to the king
" Goodwill cannot bring my son's eye back. There is a debt that needs to be paid" when Alicent spoke Maegor knew chaos was about to break loose
" I shall have one of her children's eyes in return" Maegor looked at the queen with a questioning gaze
Why did this woman want so much bloodshed . .
The king wasn't having it and so Alicent said to Ser Criston
" Bring me the eye of Lucerys Velaryon in return for what he did to my son"
" Alicent this matter is over. And let it be known that anyone who questions the birth of Princess Rhaenyras's sons should have their tongue removed"
Maegor looked towards Queen Alicent the whole time.
He saw her reach for the king's blade and charge toward Rhaenyra's children she reached Rhaenyra and tried to stab her but Rhaenyra blocked it, all the shouting made Maegor move to his sisters to protect them he would have anyone's head if they dared tried to lay a hand on them.
Alicent then spoke
" Where is duty? Where is sacrifice? It's trampled under your pretty feet again, and now you take my son's eye, and to even that you feel entitled.". Rhaenyra then spoke
" Exhausting, wasn't it? Hiding beneath the cloak of your own righteousness" She then whispers
" But now they see you as you are." Rhaenyra pushed Alicent and the blade cut her deeply Maegor stood there watching as blood left Rhaenryas arm, His father standing beside her, and with that, Maegor knew what side his father picked, Maegor was now pushed into another war with his father. The only question was would Maegor fight beside him gallantly or would he stay and observe?
" Do not mourn me, mother, it was a fair exchange. I may have lost an eye but I gained a dragon" Aemond Targaryen finally spoke up, Maegor stood there in awe he would come to know this Aemond for the boy's words held weight and with one last look Maegor motioned his sisters out of the room to take care of them.

Maegor was cleaning his sister's wounds when Baela spoke
" Are you angry Maegor?" She asked her brother as he cleaned the girl
"No I would never, why would you say such a thing."
Maegor asked his sister as he continued to clean her wounds
" you haven't said nothing much since we've left"
She said more quietly now
" I haven't said anything because I am proud of you, you both, You both have just experienced your first battle and even though it was a loss you still
Faught and for that I'm proud of you." Maegor said finishing cleaning her
" Maegor I want to learn to fight," Baela said looking up at her older brother
" You can't Baela, you're a lady and ladies aren't meant to carry swords," Rhaena said in a matter-of-fact tone.
"I don't see why she can't be a lady and also be a great swordswoman, Rhaena" Maegor said, Baela looked at him with hope in her eyes,
" So you will Maegor" The boy nodded his head and smiled when the girl jumped into his arms.
