Insanity

Of depression we speak often,
Of psychopaths still more.
But could there be many insanities
Which nobody will explore?

The fanatic's enthusiasm,
destructive in its adoration.
The curses of the pious,
In an attempt to save a nation.

The childlike glee and triumph
On a free murderer's face.
The cunning plan of a boy
When he's ripped his mother's lace.

The fear and hypocrisy
Of a judge who's taking bribes.
The happiness of a man
Whose jobs is throwing knives.

The soldier in his patriotic glory,
Violence unifying him with others.
The love of a woman
Defending her abusive brothers.

In all insanity there is emotion
Which no rope can bind.
This is the twisted power
Of a tortured mind.
