You sat on the edge of the fountain which was placed in front of the college you attended, reading over notes you had taken previously in lessons for an exam next period. Placing your head into your palms, you sighed, trying to jam all of the information into your strained, rarely-used brain.

"I'm never going to remember these notes!" You thought to yourself, whilst looking over at the guitar case that layed beside you.

You loved music and playing your guitar always managed to calm you down, even on the toughest days. It was like you could just hide away from the real world whilst you were playing. But whenever it came to an exam where you'd have to play in front of people, you would just completely freeze, unable to play a single note right.

You lost all ability to play.

You looked down at your phone and checked for any texts, which there was. A single text; It was from your cousin Zoe.

Or as most people know her, the big YouTube star, Zoella. She's always telling me about how much she enjoys her job and how much she loves every single one of her subscribers.

You read the text;

To: Y/N

From: Zoe ❤️‍
"Hey, hun! I was wondering if I could stay the night at yours since Alfie's away visiting family? I don't wanna be bored home alone! :( Miss you! <3"

You smiled looking down at the message, Zoe had always been more like a sister to you when you were growing up and the thought of seeing her tonight lifted your spirits. You messaged her back immediately, agreeing that she could stay the night and beamed with excitement to see your best friend.

You stood in front of the mirror that hung on the wall near your bed. You double checked your clothes to make sure you looked decent enough to be seen by a human being. You had always liked to look different and cat ears were always the perfect finishing touch to your outfits.

You giggled slightly. You were extremely excited to see your cousin. It had been 3 months since the last time we were able to get together as she had been so busy with her videos on YouTube and moving in with Alfie. You grinned and sat on your bed, flicking through FaceBook on your phone - Nothing interesting ever happens on here.

Your father was busy preparing a meal for the 3 of you downstairs. You mother had left you when you were around 5 and so it was up to your father to raise you and maintain a full time job. You were an only child and at times it could become pretty lonely at home, so having Zoe around really gave you the confidence boost you needed; and without her that confidence would just drop.

A few moments passed and you were messing around with your guitar, dreading telling Zoe and your father how the exam went...You had always been a musical kid and so your father had always had high expectations for you in college. But that wasn't the case.

Because in nearly every exam you managed to fail each time.

You groaned and placed the guitar down next to me.

"Why did I ever start playing if I can't even perform in front of people?" You mumbled to yourself.

Suddenly, you heard 3 distinct knocks and find yourself running down the two sets of stairs before crashing into the front door and openeing it to see a grinning Zoe. You immediately embraced eachother into a hug, after what seemed like a year without being able to do so.
