Julian wakes up and realizes that he is surrounded and trapped in a tube glass box with little holes that he can breathe to. He also sees Melody, fully conscious, sitting sadly and silently. Later Thomas Strike and Wayne arrive, holding Sammy hostage, and Strike announces, "Well how was the torture, Loserson?"

Julian: "Why do you want to do this?"

Strike: "You hold back your promise, I held mine."

Sammy wiggles around, trying to get free from Thomas' firm grasp, "Get me outta here, you monster!"

Melody: "Leave my brother alone, Strike!"

Strike: "Oh I will, after my victory celebration. You know what's your weakness, Newton? Morality. It prevents you from doing anything you like, anything you ever wanted. You should take an example of me because violence is power. People listen to whatever they want to hear, so I do what I fucking want, to lie, steal, and kill, and they love me Now I will do what I'm supposed to do, remove every people I hated from my sight, even your poor little country."

Melody did not talk back anymore, but Julian still argues, "You do this for money? For gain?"

"Yes, moreover I also want to save America... from you," mocks Strike as he leaves, forcefully taking Sammy with him. Wayne sights at Julian and replies, "I'm sorry for your city being tampered with by Strike, but you knew this was coming, Loserson."

"You hate Strike, do you?" asks Julian. Wayne does not respond, and Julian knows it regardless, "If you do, why don't you end him yourself?"

"My loyalty is still on him. If you have objections, see for yourself. Your own fate leads to destruction. Maybe I should've killed you when I had a chance," Wayne turns to Melody and responds before he leaves, "I send regards to your loss, Newton. Hope you understand."

Now Julian and Melody are left alone, separated in glass cells. Julian feels the hatred going inside him, but Melody still remains sober. She softly speaks as she sobs, "I'm really sorry, Julian."

Julian turns around and replies, "It's okay, Melody, I can get us out if I can."

Melody interrupts, dropping more tears, "No, I really am sorry for pushing you away because I thought..." she breathes hastily and continues, "I thought you would hurt me but I did it myself. My gosh, I'm an idiot about everything. I could've just left you alone, moved to New York if I could, but... But I couldn't. I really do miss the times we had."

Julian could see Melody leaning on the glass pane sobbing. He wants to comfort her, so he slowly leans beside her, separated by the glass wall, and replies back, "You're not an idiot, Melody, you're you're the... the.... the most beautiful person with a good heart. That's what you've told me before, isn't it?"

Melody turns to him and to herself, smiling with tears, "Yeah, I'm glad you do not hate me."

Julian: "I never hate you, never did. Moreover, I hate myself for existing."

Melody: "But if you didn't, I wouldn't be what I am after. You have changed me a lot since we met. I'm really sorry you've suffered worse."

Julian: "Yeah. Your father was a good man, and I'm sorry twice for letting him die."

Melody: "Well I'm sorry thrice. If it wasn't for Sammy, I would've punched your face again."

The duo chuckles a little and remains silent. Julian touches the back pane, turns to her and replies, "I have a feeling that... whatever Strike's plan is. If I die, then..."

"You're not going to die, not today," Melody also touches the back pane, encountering Julian's palm, and faces him, promising, "I swear on my heart, Julian, I will not let you die, I promise."
