KANISHA'S POV

Finally, I am married to him, and right now, I am here in his house, or should I say, my house. Geeta Ma, Aditi, and everyone are preparing for our entry. Ma brings a thali (plate) with kumkum, rice, and a small lamp (diya) and performs the aarti.

[ The aarti is performed to welcome the bride into her new family and home. It is a way to ward off any negative energy and to bless the bride with prosperity, happiness, and good fortune. ]

After the aarti is done, she gestures to Aditi to bring the Kalash and place it in front of me at the entrance with a dish filled with alta (a red dye mixed with water).

[ A pot filled with rice, known as a Kalash, is placed at the entrance. The bride gently kicks it over with her right foot, symbolizing the arrival of prosperity and abundance into the home. The bride steps into a dish filled with alta (a red dye) mixed with water. She then walks into the house, leaving behind red footprints. These footprints are considered auspicious and symbolize the arrival of Goddess Lakshmi. ]

"Beta, dhire se isme pair maro aur phir alta me pair rakh ke andar aao," Geeta Ma asks me to kick the Kalash. So, I kick the Kalash and then put both of my feet in the dish. I am about to step inside but stop as we hear Aman and Aditi's voices.

"Bhabhi, ruko!!"

[ Bhabhi, wait!! ]

They come in front of me holding a white T-shirt in their hands. I look towards them with questioning eyes, not understanding what they are asking.

"Bhabhi, aap ispe pair rakh sakti ho?" Aman asks.

[ Bhabhi, can you place your foot on this? ]

"Haan, Bhabhi, please," Aditi says. After hearing their request, my eyes dilate with shock. I mean, I know everyone does this nowadays, but I wasn't expecting this to happen to me. I love to read books, and I have read many stories where they do this, but experiencing it in real life gives me a different feeling.

[ Yes, please Bhabhi]

"Pleaseeeeeeee," they say in unison. So, they place the T-shirt on the ground in front of me, and I put my right foot on the T-shirt, followed by my left, moving further inside the house.
