saturday.

you told atsumu that you'd wait at the nearby park but he hadn't seen it yet. 'maybe he's still getting ready.' you thought, walking out of your cousin's house.

looking up, you noticed the sky was a bit nebulous and dreary. "i hope it doesn't rain today." you muttered to yourself, shrugging it off as you continued to walk with a small smile.

the thought of hanging out with him after days of not seeing each other made you happy.

the blonde-haired boy always arrived first and early when you both hung out yet when you arrived at the park, he wasn't there. you awkwardly look around, 'maybe i'm too early..' you thought, sighing as you sat on a bench.

sitting, you look at your hands on your lap as you bite your inner cheek. you turned your phone on to see no message notifications. as you checked the time, you unlocked your phone, telling him that you were already at the park.

you stare at your phone, the small smile that once kissed your lips gradually disappeared. 'maybe he's on his way.' this was your third 'maybe' today, and you're not sure if that's a good thing or not.

you put your phone down and looked around, a few birds were chirping along with a few kids playing around. hearing their giggles made you think about ten years ago.

a part of you thought that maybe you were atsumu's childhood friend, considering the coincidences, but now just you're confused. he found his actual childhood and it wasn't you.

so if it isn't him, then who?

sighing, you leaned back as your gaze shifted to the sky— the dreary, cloudy sky that was once bright and cloudless.

it was the summer, so why was the sky so somber? perhaps the people found a new, shiny, bright light to bask in, so the skies were a bit sad. but was this always about the summer sky, the people, and the newfound light?

twenty minutes had passed and there was no sight nor sign of the blonde-haired boy. the sky grew duller and duller, 'it's not like he'll stand me up, right? he's not like that.' you mused, fiddling with your fingers.

twenty turned to thirty then to forty.

he never came.

hovering your fingers on your and his chat, you thought, 'what's the point of doing this?' as you sighed. feeling the wet drops on your clothes, you were unsure whether or not it was the tears from your eyes or the raindrops from the cloudy skies.
