Just because it is you

I thought I didn't love you a lot.
That's where I was wrong .

I accepted your careless attitude,
Just because it was you.
I accepted all your fake promises of change,
Just because it was you.
I accepted all your disrespect,
Just because it was you.
I wanted to believe you would change,
Just because it was you.
I always cried,
but in the end coaxed my heart into understanding your view,
Just because it was you.

I wouldn't let anybody else treat me this way.
People have seen me disappear from their lives,
Just because I wasn't treated with respect.
I have always been good with cutting off people who hurt my self respect.
No matter how important they were.
I have always been good at it.

For the first time,
I loved.
I trusted.
I didn't even realise that I've been put so low,
Maybe i did love you a lot.
A lot that i forgot about myself .

The worst part about our relationship is,
You never thought about me
You never once considered me
You never once cared about your wife
You never were the person you had promised .

I wanted to believe you when you promised me lately that you'd change,
But I know,
I will be met with another disappointment
Just because it is you.
