The next few days were a blur. Tashu had been working on strategies and tactics to use against our enemies, Esme was using her knowledge of magic to teach others, the orcs and dwarves were building a underground base, and Xander and I secured any supplies we could find. Weapons, food, medical supplies, that sort of thing. After a long day of supply gathering, we sat down on the roof of the inn.
"I've seen how you look at me. Like how the government want men to look at women and vice versa." I began, turning to my friend. Xander gulped. Our kingdom wasn't kind to gay people. "Don't worry. In my new kingdom, all will be free to love who they love, be who they are a d say what they want to say. Although JD they say something disrespectful..." Xander cut me off by kissing my lips. My eyes went wide before closing as I kissed him back.
The next day, I was walking through the corridors of the new base. I passed Xander, who I passed a friendly smile. He kept walking fastly away. Apparently he didn't want to talk to me. Eventually, I managed to get him alone in a isolated room to talk to him. "Listen," he began. "I know you don't like me like that and that your not gay like me, but please don't tell anyone that I am."
As he turns to walk away, I grab his arm, forcing him to face me. "I do like you. I like everyone, no matter their gender. I believe in loving whoever you want. I know the world is not ready, but that is all just the government. I want us to be something more, but I need to focus on my task of saving everyone." He leaned in, as did I, and planted a small kiss on my lips. Then, we went and checked the food supplies.
