At dawn the next morning they all prepared for the journey ahead. Roger dressed more appropriately in jeans and a plain white shirt with a collar coupled with a brown vest the buttoned down the front.
They walked along the beach as the sun rose and began their journey. "How long will it take to get there?" Brian asked.
"Well, it depends. It could take weeks, months, years." Mercury exaggerated. Roger rolled his eyes.
"We first go through the lily valley, which if we make it far today we'll be there in 2 days time. Then passed ogre battle sight and if we're lucky we won't be stuck on their battle field. Trust me it isn't pretty. By then we'll be in the kingdom." Roger explained.
"Well wait a second. Now what seven seas?" Mercury asked.
"The seven seas of rhye? Don't be silly it doesn't exist ." Roger said.
"Lair!" Mercury exclaimed. Roger shook his head.
"I've been to the kingdom multiple times. Theres no such thing as the seven sea of rhye!" Roger said to his annoyance.
Brian was so lost at this point. What even was a seven sea of rhye?
"Oh Brian darling you must be excited. In the legends the sea is made of wine so clear. It really is a sight to see." Mercury smiled that classic smile. The one Freddie would smile if someone would make his laugh hard.
"Yeah if it was real." Roger said sourly.
"Well tell me about it Mercury. What's it really like?" Brian asked intrigued.
"Well it flows on and on forever. It'll take you many days to cross it. It's that big! That's why they call it the seven seas of rhye. It's as big as seven seas maybe even more." Mercury said excitedly, his wings fluttering a bit.
"As the fairytale goes. I bet that's something mother Mercury made up." Roger smirked evil like.
Mercury gasped dramatically and placed a hand on his chest. "How. Dare. You."
Mercury then lunged for Roger, tackling him to the ground. "How dare you insult the very person that gave the fairy's life. I should call the black queen and have you killed!" Mercury yelled while chocking Roger.
Roger seemed very unfazed though. He snapped his fingers and Mercury levitated in the air. Brian's mouth fell open as Roger held Mercury in the air and got off the ground and dusted himself off.
"Alright Brian?" Roger asked seeing Brian looked at Mercury quite concerned.
"I- I'm sorry I've just- where I come from this like never happens. He's alright right?" Brian asked flustered and pointed to Mercury.
"Oh yeah he's fine. It's just a paralyzing spell. It'll wear off right now." Roger said and snapped his fingers again making Mercury fall with a large thud.
"I can't believe you sometimes." Mercury growled rubbing the back of his head.
They made their way away from the beach and into the deep forest. Fairy villages were often seen and they passed through many. Brian getting the strangest looks from children and mothers looking on at him horrified.
"They don't know any better. They've never really seen a human without powers." Mercury reassured.
"They're all staring at me though, makes me feel so exposed." Brian said holding his hands to his shoulders.
"Well you're just so... unique. It's all very new to me and Roger here but we're just more excepting of each other. Isn't that right Roggie?" Mercury said pushing back to tall grass away from the village.
