august woke up and turned to find JJ snoring. she smiled at the boy, this was the first night he didn't leave before she woke up. she was smiling until she remembered her best friends were trapped on a boat.

"JJ?" she gently tapped him and he rolled over, "unbelievable." she rolled her eyes and flipped him back over.

"JJ! wake up!" she frantically shook him around and he woke up with a loud groan, he realized where he was, or more who he was in front of. "oh. what's up?" he smirked at her and she laughed at the boy.

"uh oh!" "you forget your keys or something?" "you guys need a tow?" the three boys taunted the girls while august was still barely awake.

"you've gotta admit it was funny." john b said as they rolled up to the girls, "mastermind, huh?" kiara asked, "i'm always planning." he told her while august laughed, "some patriarchal bullshit." kiara rolled her eyes, "yeah that sucked." sarah added.

"you still love us though, right?" JJ asked while handing kiara the rope, "you still hate me?" john b asked his girlfriend, "a little. we're both gonna get you back when you least expect it." sarah told him, "watch your back boys." kiara added.

"i welcome that challenge." "me too." pope and JJ told the girls. "so, did you guys, you know.." "reconcile our differences?" kiara finished the question for him.

sarah shook her head, "not even close." august didn't believe that for a second. "but we're .. willing to work together." august smiled at her words. finally no more cat fights.

"you know what? that's a victory." john b said and august clapped while pope and JJ did their weird handshake.

while the boys were bickering august noticed the way that sarah winked at kiara which made her smile, "all right, you guys ready to jack some loot?" john b asked, "hell yeah." august answered and john b gave her a high five.

kiara jumped into the boat and august walked over to sarah, "do you hate me now?" august asked the girl and sarah laughed, "i could never hate you. your my mermaid sister, remember?" august smiled at the fact that she remembered. "come on princess." august grabbed her hand and helped her into the boat.

"you got rope?" john b asked, "got it." pope answered, "grappling hook?" the question made august cackle, "no grappling hook. we're not batman." pope replied.

"you know, you would make a good batman." august told the boy driving while playing with JJ's lighter, which she stole. "see? she gets it." john b turned around and gave her a finger gun which she did right back.

john b continued going on with the list of needed items which made august more nervous then she already was about going back in that house.

"all right, we're ready." john b said while turning off the car, "let's get rich." JJ said and then smiled and looked next to his girlfriend who handed back his lighter.

john b opened up door and paused, "wait." he said and they all looked up at him. "i wanna say thank you guys, seriously. it means a lot to me that your here tonight." the comment made august smile.

"always." kiara told him which made him smile. "of course, man." pope told him while they did their handshake.

"all right, we done with this circle jerk? can we go do this?" JJ asked and everyone started getting up and following john b. "let's get that wheat in the water." pope said excitedly, "weed? i'm up for weed." "wheat. i said wheat."

august climbed over the stone wall with JJ's help and looked up to the house, "spooky." she whispered to herself and continued walking. they all stopped infront of the house and looked up when suddenly bright lights turned on, "shit!" they all ducked down.

"okay, so she has motion sensor lights." pope pointed out the obvious. "we can, uh.. move really slowly, maybe?" JJ suggested while august had to contain her laughter, "what?" sarah asked, "that's not how it works.

"oh, shit. let's throw a rock at it." john b suggested, "dude, are you serious?" august asked and he shrugged, "that's a really good idea. let the axe murderer know that we're here." kie said sarcastically, "well, do you have a better idea?" john b turned to her, "literally anything but that."

"what about the breaker? in the circuit box on the porch." sarah suggested and everyone looked at her weird, "we used to play hide and seek here as kids." sarah pointed between her and august, "no, your not going in the house alone." john b told her, "watch me." she smiled mischievously.

"crain chops people into pieces." JJ informed her, "if you believe that, and she's like what, 85. she's barely still kicking." she told him.

"i'll go with you." kiara told her, "i will too." august chimed in. "we'll wait for your signal." pope said and the three girls stood up.

"hey! be safe." john b told them, "we will." sarah told him before slowly walking off, "just don't die." JJ told her and she rolled her eyes, "i'll be fine. i'm like a ninja." she winked and started walking off with her friends.

augustine's pov

"she must have a generator plugged into the main power supply." sarah said while we walked through the yard. this was definitely not my idea of a good time.

we walked up to the porch and kiara opened the generator box, "wait, where are the breakers?" sarah asked, "great. this is just perfect." i took a step back, "no, no, no." we all looked up to find a long wire. "it goes inside." kiara mentioned.

fuck no. "there has to be another way." i pleaded. "there isn't." kiara said and i took a deep breath and i decided to trust my friends.

we opened the door and stepped inside, we looked around and a cat suddenly jumped out making me almost piss myself. "pspsp." i tried to talk to the cat but sarah shushed me.

"hey, look." kiara pointed up the cord and we followed it and found the box making the weight on my shoulder lift.
