The dawn of the next day was shrouded in a gray mist, mirroring Victor's mixed emotions. The long night of anticipation had left him restless, and the uncertainty of the upcoming meeting with Dr. Greene weighed heavily on his shoulders. Adelda had promised to be by his side, and as he walked to school, her supportive presence was a source of comfort.

Victor's thoughts were a tangled mess of worry and hope as he approached the admissions office. The hallway seemed longer than usual, each step echoing with the sound of his own nervous heartbeat. When he finally reached Dr. Greene's office, he took a deep breath and knocked on the door.

"Come in," came the voice from within, calm and authoritative.

Victor entered the office, where Dr. Greene sat behind a large desk covered in stacks of papers. The room was tastefully decorated, but Victor's eyes were focused solely on the woman seated before him. Her expression was serious but not unkind.

"Good morning, Victor," Dr. Greene said, gesturing for him to sit. "Thank you for coming on such short notice."

"Good morning, Dr. Greene," Victor replied, trying to keep his voice steady as he took a seat. "You mentioned it was urgent?"

Dr. Greene nodded, her demeanor softening slightly. "Yes, it is. I wanted to discuss your application in person because we've encountered an unexpected situation."

Victor's heart raced as he listened intently. Dr. Greene continued, "While reviewing the applications again, we realized there was an oversight in our initial decision process. It was brought to our attention that there was a clerical error that impacted your application's evaluation."

Victor's mind struggled to keep up with the information. "So... what does that mean?"

Dr. Greene smiled gently. "It means that, after reassessing your application, we believe you are a strong candidate for our program. We would like to offer you a spot in our incoming class, along with a scholarship to support your studies."

Victor's breath caught in his throat. "Are you serious? This is really happening?"

"Yes, it is," Dr. Greene confirmed. "We deeply regret the oversight and are thrilled to offer you this opportunity. We believe you have the potential to make a significant impact here."

Victor's emotions were a whirlwind of relief, joy, and disbelief. He felt a surge of gratitude for the unexpected turn of events, realizing how close he had come to losing this chance altogether.

"Thank you so much, Dr. Greene," Victor said, his voice filled with emotion. "I'm incredibly grateful."

Dr. Greene nodded. "You've earned this, Victor. We look forward to seeing you on campus."

As Victor left the office, the weight of the past few weeks seemed to lift. The misty morning now felt brighter, the sky opening up with a sense of possibility. He dialed Adelda's number, his hands shaking slightly with excitement.

When she answered, he could barely contain his enthusiasm. "Adelda, you won't believe it! I just got a call from Dr. Greene. They're offering me a spot at the college, and I got a scholarship!"

Adelda's voice was filled with elation. "Victor, that's incredible! I'm so happy for you!"

They decided to meet immediately, and as Victor approached their usual meeting spot, he saw Adelda waiting for him. Her face lit up with a radiant smile as she saw him.

The moment they embraced, Victor could feel the tension of the past few weeks melting away. "I couldn't have done this without you, Adelda," he said, his voice choked with gratitude.

Adelda pulled back slightly and looked at him with pride. "You did it all on your own, Victor. Your hard work and perseverance paid off. I'm just glad I could be here to support you."

They spent the rest of the day celebrating, walking through the park, reminiscing about their journey, and dreaming about the future. The scholarship offer was not just a victory for Victor but a testament to the power of resilience and the unwavering support of those he loved.
