Out of Sight, Out of Mind

Imani groggily woke up with a splitting headache. Sitting up, she slowly rubbed the sleep out her eyes, and realized her surroundings. The room was eerily familiar. From the cream colored walls covered in albums, to the red Jordan's sitting on the top shelf of the shoe rack. However, the migraine she was sporting made it difficult for her to put her finger on exactly where she was. Lost in thought, the girl hardly noticed a low groan coming from the other end of the bed.

The curly haired girl shifted her gaze to the boy sprawled out next to her who was still sound asleep, wrapped comfortable in the sheets. The girl felt her heart drop to the floor, the familiarity of the room suddenly making sense. What in the actual hell was she doing at Samaj's house? She racked her mind to figure out why the two were not just together, but sleeping in the same bed. Imani's heart thumped heavily in her chest, suddenly regretting things she didn't even remember doing. She pressed her hungover brain to try and think back to the events of the party, but she was at a complete loss. It's just fuck me day huh? She thought as she slowly began to creep out of the bed. Even though she and Samaj had slept together on numerous occasions, this was different.

This felt wrong and it left an aching sensation in the pit of her stomach. She took a quick glance at the nightstand to find her phone, and grabbed it and hurriedly, to check her battery. Luckily enough, she had at least enough to call for an uber and make it out the house without it dying. Scrolling through notifications, she stood there completely unaware of the, now awoken, presence on the bed who was now lazily staring her down with a sleepy smirk hanging off his face. Still enthralled in her phone, she saw Connie had left about two or three messages most of which consisted of dumb TikTok's. But Annia, on the other hand, was blowing up her phone like crazy. Pressing her repeatedly for answers on her whereabouts.

Imani rushed to assure Annia that she was safe before setting her phone back down with a deep sigh. Shifting her gaze over, the brownskin girl let out a high pitched shriek as she made eye contact with the now awake Samaj. "Holy-, what the fuck is wrong with you?!" Imani said as she tried to regain her composure. Samaj rubbed his eyes and sat up, ignoring her outburst. "You good? Is your head aight from yesterday?" Samaj asked tiredly, as he rested on his elbows. Finally feeling calmed down, the girl grabbed her things and headed out of the room; barely sparing him another glance. "Mani wait" Maj's tall frame followed after her, trying to get her to hear him out.

That deep ache she felt earlier only increased, and memories of their past plagued her thoughts. Suddenly nauseous, Imani's hurried even faster through the house so she wouldn't have to face the boy hot on her trail. She raced down the stairs, still being careful enough to watch her step; and reached the bottom just as her phone buzzed in her pocket. Seeing that the uber was there the girl left the house with a slam, and didn't look back once at the shirtless boy who continued to call out to her.

Imani walked through her front door and she was immediately greeted with her mother's angered expression. "Where the hell have you been?" Her mother's voice boomed. "It is 1:00 in the afternoon". "Mama I spent the night at Annia's" Imani lied through her teeth. She felt bad about lying to her mom, but she already had enough problems to deal with she didn't need her mother to add on to it. "See if I let you out again, lil girl, keep playin." The younger of the two sighed and nodded her head just to end the conversation, so she could be alone with her thoughts. As soon as she got in her room she collapsed on her bed and dug her head in her pillows. Imani laid there for a few moments just taking in the silence before rolling over to stare at the ceiling. Details from the party slowly started coming back to her whilst she was deep in thought. However, everything was still so hazy to her.

"Don't make me do something you'll regret later." The low strained whisper sent shivers up her spine and sent heat straight to her core. Imani laughed, enjoying his struggle as he attempted to restrain himself. Although the smile immediately wiped from her face once she felt Maj's fingers slowly moving from their placement on her waist to her inner thigh. There was no denying it, being this close to him, and the sensations he was giving her, was staring to eat away at Imani's self control. His thumb circled slowly on her inner thigh as his large hand gripped the top of it. His touch felt had a huge effect on her and she was struggling to keep her own composure.

She let a small, eager, whine slip through her lips and could only hope that the loud music masked it. "Samaj-." The girl started, but quickly paused when she heard a familiar song begin plahing from the speakers. Getting up from his lap, the girl tugged on his hand giddily; all prior thoughts immediately forgotten as soon as the music filled her ears. "Cmon let's dance," Mani said in a soft voice. 'Persian Rugs' was playing and all the people were drunkenly singing and moving to the beats of the song. Maj got up and followed behind her, she felt his hands lightly keep hold of her waist as she guided him through the crowd to a more open spot. Imani started to dance, whining her hips in front of him, she looked over her shoulder to see Samaj watching her with a heated gaze. She backed up just enough for him to make contact with her butt and continued her slow dance to the song. Without even looking, she knew Maj was shaking his head; but without any verbal complaints, he got into her rhythm and held a firm grasp on her hips. His right hand traveled up her body until it found it's spot on the base of her neck. The cool rings on his fingers enveloped her senses and the only thing the girl could focus on in the moment was him, as if they were in their own world. Imani looked over her shoulder and up at him, her eyes alone were enough to make him lean in and-

The sound of her phone ringing jerked her out of her daydream. Her hands patted around the bed before grasping the phone. Immediately declining upon reading the contact name, the girl placed her phone back down. She shook away her previous thoughts, no longer wanting to think about last night events any longer. Deciding to forget the situation as a whole, the girl figured she might as well just pretend nothing ever happened.
