What if he did prefer those frilly girls? Should you wear at least three petti-coats every day? Curl your hair?

The brush runs smooth through your sleek hair, the length of which reaching your hips. More often than not it was kept neat in a braid or tucked away in a tidy bun. Subtle ribbons tied in to flow through.
Today you had a scheduled lunch with your betrothed. You had never really gone out of your way to... make your appearance... appealing for such an ocasion. Insecurity was eating at you it seemed. Though you knew it was ridiculous, you'd gotten in your mind that you could earn Ciel's favor with abiding the latest trend.
Thus, leading you to digging out the curling iron you had been gifted for your birthday months prior. You had it currently heating over hot coals.
It can't be that hard, right?, You asked yourself, certainly not. You just wrap your hair around it, hold it there, then let it go. Simple.
Now convinced, you grasp the hot iron's handle. Pushing down the lever to open the clasp, before carefully twirling a small bunch of your hair around the wand, and releasing the lever. After a bit of anxiously biting your lip, you open the clamp to allow the hair to fall. A beautiful tiny curl is formed, bouncing by your cheek.
You smile, confident in your actions moving forward. This time you separate a bigger chunk of hair from the top of your head. Just as before, you wrap it around the hot iron and clamp it down. Leaving it there for a bit longer.... before you smell something burning.
Quickly you unclamp the curling wand, and hair falls to the ground. In the mirror you see the section of hair you had attempted to curl, had burned off and now only reaches your chin. Your eyes blur with tears, and you feel your heart beat in your chest, in panic you stand. Going to place the iron down, your obscured vision causes you to miss its holder and it hits your vanity.
Within your high emotions you acted on instinct to grab the fallen item hastily. You hadn't time to think about the blistering temperature of the iron stick.
"Ah-!"
It sears the skin of your hand once you snatch it up, throwing it down just as instantly as you'd snatched it up.
"Dammit..." You curse yourself.
Soon after, a maid had come in to assist you in dressing. She found your distressed form pawing at your hair. Once she had gotten you to calm down to a level head, she offered to cut your hair to a proper length, bandaging your burned hand.
Disheartend at the loss, you give a sad nod.
That is why now, you have your head wrapped in a head scarf. Whilst you sip tea in the shared company of your fiance. His butler standing nearby. Ashamed of your mistake, of how you'd now stand out from other girls your age. How Ciel may detest your appearance even more now.
"...Y/n," the boy calls, blue eye catching your gaze from across the table, "not that there is any issue with it, however, might I inquire about your latest... hair accessory?"
Obviously Ciel had noticed your ever present head scarf, it just wasn't until he'd seen the pinch in your brows, and how you went through so much trouble being sure it remained on.
