Hammers banging against wood and nails, drills screeching as they secure screws in their place. Together, the hotel staff and guests worked to reinforce the hotel for the pending battle tomorrow. Heaven's Exorcist army would be coming just as promised six months ago. So much has happened within that small time period. Only now is it a harsh slap of reality. People could, and will, most likely die tomorrow.

Would I have any regrets-

Y/n was pulled from their thoughts at the door opening. Catching the surprised gazes of Charlie and Vaggie, seemingly on better terms than before leaving, the sinner flicks their head towards the balcany. Directing the girls' gaze up.

"Yeah, yeah fortify that." Angel orders an eggboy, before noticing the return of the hotel managers, "Well, look who decided to show up. We thought we were fighting by ourselves." He says, pulling Husker and Sir Pentious to his sides. He's really grown a lot being here, although Y/n was sure he'd always been that way. It was just hiding.

Both the princess and her lover were pleasantly shocked. "You're.....You're still here." Vaggie said fondly, to which Sir Pentious scoffed. "What?" he asked, "Do you think we're a bunch of pussssssyyss?" "I just got used to you guys, tch, I ain't finding any new drinking buddies." Husk smirks. "I've named all the stains on the carpet." Nifty giggles atop Angel's plantinum hair, "That ones Fred." She points out. Y/n chuckles at the look of confusion on the crowds face, "You've done so much for us," they walk forward, smiling "we thought it time we give something back."

"Looks like we got a lot of work to do."

And work everyone did.

With the help of the cannibal towns people Charlie had gathered, they all continued to prepare for the next twenty four hours. Testing out new carmine weapons, planning where each person will be, adding to the hotel's protection.

The day had come to an end, and it was time to take one last relaxing evening. Live it up, because, there could be no other day past tomorrow. After Charlie had given a small thank you speech, the group gathered for drinks. All chatting without a care, worry free and relaxed.

"Heres to being alive today and not dying tomorrow!" Sir Pentious annouces, with his glass raised. Y/n smiled raising their glass as well. "I'll drink to that." They say, taking a sip of their drink after clinking their cup. "Chug, chug chug-" Cherri chants, to which Y/n obilges, tilting their head and glass further back to down the alcohol. Cherri cackles patting her friends back, "Yeah! That's it Y/n! Been a while since I've seen you let loose." "Figured I may as well, could be my last time." Y/n responds, spinning the ice leftover in the cup, head buzzing. "It better fucking not be, I'll find you bitch." Cherri threatens heartily, sending finger guns Y/n's way before strolling off.

Rolling their eyes playfully, Y/n decides another drink is in order. Plopping on the bar stool they wave Husk over, holding up their glass in a silent ask for a refill. The cat bartender takes the cup and adds more ice. Y/n looks to their left, pleased to find Angel Dust still sitting there as well, they lean over nudging his shoulder with their's. "Got any special plans for what could be our finale evening?" Angel glances over, "Nah," he sighs, "I'm good right here." He says, gazing softly at the sinner beside him. Someone who has been beside him for so long, he's only just barely come to appreciate in the past six months.

"Last day of afterlife," Husk begins, setting down Y/n's drink, then leaning on the bar top, "and you're not off snorting a line off some hunk's abs?"

Angel Dust smirks with a shrug, "Eh! Ya fucked one cannibal pool boy ya fucked 'em all." Y/n smiles softly hearing this, taking a sip from the fresh drink, the bartender and spider had grown close. It was nice to see Angel getting along with someone outside of that work facade. "I guess you have changed." Husk says, visably pleased with Angel's decisions. "Hey," Angel starts gently, "Charlie said live tonight however we wanted, so pour me a fresh one! And lets get to living!" He cheers out, wrapping an arm around Y/n, who grins saying another cheers.

"-Ms. Bomb- eh... Cherri?" "Yeah."

"Psst." Y/n gains Angel's attention, then nods their head back towards where Cherri and Sir Pentious now converse. "Isn't that cute? Rivals to lovers trope. I love it." Y/n gossips, "Haha, it's definetly not somethin' I saw coming."

The evening went on, eventually morphing into the early hours of the morning/late hours of the night. The hotel falling into vacant halls of soundless slumber. Y/n wished they could revel in the peaceful environment they've grown familiar with, but, as the minutes ticked by, so did their nerves. It came in waves, heart pounding against their chest causing their breath to falter. Tearing up at the lack of air.

Outside, on the balcany, in the chilly night air, they sit on the cool ground with their legs pulled close.

"Hey what're ya- oh." Angel halts when he catches Y/n. He was just going to close the door before he heard shuffling. Then he planned to scold the sinner that left the door open. But that all fled from his mind when he saw who it was out on the balcany, curled up and frightend. A sight he has seen far too many times.

Wordlessly, he sits next to them, laying a hand on the other demon's head. "Sorry," they choke slighty, "I'm such a mess." "An adorable one though." He says, playfully ruffling their hair. He could see now they had been off throughout the day, he should've known they'd try to handle it on their own. "This is a lot, but we'll get through it. We always do." Lightly turning their face to him with his ungloved hands, thumbs drying their wet cheeks and lashes.

Y/n closes their eyes, breathing in deep as they lean into his touch. Always so soft, palms warm and welcoming with the faint smell of his scent. Angel practically holds their head up, watching as Y/n relaxes, their dry lips parted as they breathe. "I'm just so scared." They finally speak up, glassy eyes revealing themselves, "Everything we've done and everyone we've met here, I'm scared for them. It's comfortable now. I'm happy, for the first time in a while, I love where I am." More tear drops cascade down their perfect face as they continue, "I love being here, with everyone, with you. But it hurts so much- I don't ever want to be without you."

Y/n's breathing stutters a bit at their acciedental revelation. Angel just smiles at them, hand pushing back their fallen hair. "I know whatcha' mean," he tells them, "loving anything is hard. But,"

Play: This is Angel, This is together, this is Y/n!

By, being around you

You taught me how to live

You make this afterlife seem grand

And in the end,

it is all that we've, been through

that brought us to each other, Me and You

More than Anything, More than Anything

I've been dying to tell you more than anything,

More than anything, more than anything

I love you even through all of this, pain we share,

More than anything

Neither know who exactly leaned in, but, by the end of their loving serenade, they found it didn't matter. Their lips were on the others. A soft kiss, that spoke just as beautifully as the words they'd shared, deepening as their emotions take over. What the two do know is that when they wake up next to the other later that morning, a new feeling of elation followed them. Because even with the hardships the days hold, despite all odds, the other will be there waiting.

They just know, more than anything.
