It has been five years since I got my gift, I'm turning thirteen in two months on b/d. Not only has my body grown but also my wings, they were nearly always dragging on the floor if I didn't lift them up a bit. My parents told me once I was old enough then I can join in on family planning for special events. 

which means I can finally join in on the family planning for the weddings I was on the roof of my house as I watched the sun starting to set. My cousin Tonio had proposed to his lifelong girlfriend, making the family ecstatic as always since he was the first born from Tia Alicia. Which she says she was also the first born from Abuela but only by two minutes, since she was a twin. Not only is my cousin Tonio getting married but soon will be my birthday followed by our cousin Tiera planned proposal. How do we know that she's going to be proposed to? Her boyfriend wanted to get the families blessing before ever proposing to her. Though he plans on proposing later down the line, so they can have their special moment after everything is settled down. 

I watched the sun slowly melt down the mountain side that protected the town from its back, once the sun was out of sight there was still an hour worth of sunlight before night fall. I glanced down to the town just in time to see someone was waving their hands up at me. I turned my head around to examine my home thinking they're waving at someone else before I turned back and pointed to myself. They nodded their head before tossing their head to the side, signaling me to come down. Giving a shrug to myself I spread my w/c wings open before I stood up and took off into the air. Gliding down to the person that was waving at me I could see it was a boy. He goes to the same school as I do, he's a bit shy which I don't blame him, he's in a new place. He has freckles decorating his cheeks, nose, forehead, and chin. His name is h/n, he's part of the l/n family who recently settled in our town when me and him were both seven. His h/c hair was being tossed side to side due to the wind I was throwing into his face once I landed. He had e/c eyes matching with his s/c skin with a white smile plastered on his face. He was wearing a plain white shirt with black basketball shorts. 

"Hey, y/n I wanted to see if you would want to come with me to the festival that's happening tomorrow night" He softly spoke, fidgeting with his fingers as he spoke with a slight lisp. 

"What about Ashley? Didn't you want to ask her?" I questioned with a raised eyebrow and tilted head. Ashley was his crush in school, their moms were always hanging out together giving h/n an excuse to hang out with her. He always wanted to ask her to any dances our school holds or evens that the town has but he seems to never ask her. 

"don't tell me you chickened out again" I continued with a sigh and shake of my head once I saw him hang his head in defeat. 

"I just don't have the courage like you do, y/n" he admitted with guilt in his e/c eyes once he looked back into my e/c eyes. 

"So, is that a, yes?" he asked, pouting his lips, cupping his hands in front of him, and slightly widened his eyes. 

"Sure, I might as well protect you" I chuckled, patting him on his back to make him stop his pouting. He then beamed and pull me into a hug before running off in the direction of his house. The only reason there is a festival is because of Lupe l/n, tomorrow is the day she made the barrier completed. Which also means that my whole family blesses the town with our presence, each showing off our own gift before ending the night with fireworks. 
Turning on my heels, I headed back to my home. Just as I walked through the front door I was met with mother, Tia Alicia, and Tieria. They were too caught up in their conversation to notice me as I slipped by them and melted into my room.
