The Spirit of Time

Chapter 2:

"It's time. Prepare the core. Configure the system."

"It's done? Good. Now turn the machine on."*machine sound*

*Yawn*" Umm mh. Hmmm what time is it?. "

I looked at the clock. It was 7:35 AM.

"Oh no I'm getting late. I need to get ready asap. "

I quickly got up and started getting ready. While brushing my teeth I noticed I was still wearing my holographic matter.

"Hmm I must have forgotten to take it off....... You know what, I shouldn't take it off. I'm gonna prank my friends with it. Hehe."

"I need a name for it though....... Hmm, how about 'Luri'? It has a nice sound to it. Ok Let's go with Luri. "

I configured the name into the AI. I checked, it responds to me if I call Luri.

"Seems like the extraction process isn't finished. Ones that are extracted are already working.... Wait! I can't get distracted. "

I put on my uniform and went downstairs. I saw my roommate Ark levitating around while cooking food.

"Hey, it's dangerous to use a float module while cooking. Plus aren't you getting late?" I asked.

"What do you mean by module? Anyway I took a day off. Go you are getting late. I prepared the food. Quick, eat up. Hehe" Ark smirked.

I was pissed but I decided to NOT argue. I quickly finished the food.

I was near the main entrance. I tied my shoelaces and opened the door.

I opened the door. It was the moment I realized that something was wrong. I saw everyone outside using magic.

I encountered the use of magic before. During different ceremonies. But what's this? Why is magic here or everywhere? Isn't this Thylaria?

I rushed back in and asked "Where are we!?"

"Why are you being silly? It's our apartment. " Ark said laughingly.

"No, I meant City and Kingdom. " I frustratingly asked.

"Are you okay? Did you get sick?" Ark asked.

I got angry and said" Just tell me!".

"Okay. Okay. It's Thylaria, in the Kingdom of magic." he said.

"Kingdom of magic"

"....dom of magic"

"....magic"

"Wait!? WAIT! That doesn't make sense. Wasn't Thylaria a part of the Kingdom of tech." I asked.

"Maybe you should take a day off," Ark recommended."

"No, I need to keep my composure. I need to figure out what in the world is going on"

"Oh sorry. I kind of mixed everything up, " I lied.

"Maybe the earthquake last night caused your senses to go haywire. Haha" Ark laughed.

"What do you mean? " I asked.

Ark explained "Last night an unusual earthquake had occurred. I looked outside and saw a bright flash. The next thing I knew the earthquake was gone."

Maybe that earthquake was the cause. I need to investigate that.

"Anyway, I will be going." I said and left.

I started walking to school. Some people looked at me. One of my friends came to me and said "Oi, why are you walking to school? Shouldn't you float like us?"
