Mishika's pov
There's something about gloominess. When we dwell too much in it, it commences to surround us from every side.Keeping the spoon aside, my attention for the upteeenth time diverted to my mobile screen. And unknowingly a sigh of disappointed vents past my lips.
"Ohh please! Drop it already." My eyes widened, instinctively I rose from my seat, lunging towards Sitara across the table to get my phone back. And her being her, pulled it behind her back.
"Sitara" My eyes narrowed in an urgent request. "Don't try anything funny."
"What's so funny!?" The voice, familiar but unexpected, effortlessly averted my attention from Sitara while I turned back.
"Ishan" I sighed.
For a moment, inside my heart, I wished it to be the certain someone with the most bewitching charcoal blackholes.
A smile touched his lips as he walked closer. "Were you expecting someone else, Mrs. Oberoi ?"
Slapping his arms, I looked away. Why does my face suddenly feel so warm ? "Mrs. Oberoi, are you blushing ?"
"Miss Singh" The unforeseen vociferation jolted me and my heart picked pace. Did someone hear Ishan calling me Mrs. Oberoi ?
"Ye_s" Why am I stuttering ?
"The meeting is fixed at five. I couldn't find the department's head, so please inform her."
Managing a polite smile, my head unknowingly moved in a frantic nod. My face must have appeared flustered since Ishan and Sitara muffled their chuckle and even the manager's eyes squinted in scepticism.
Thankfully the manager soon left, not paying much heed. And finally I released a sigh of relief, shooting a glare at Ishan who looked nothing close to apologetic.
Sitara's lips puckered, a frown marring her face. "Only if you weren't such a sweet friend and I didn't feel guilty for mistakenly spilling about your marriage earlier, I was so tempted to accept your husband's offer."
Ishan let out a small guffaw as he picked up some of Sitara's french fries.
"Seeing how she is ignoring him right now, I am sure he will give an offer better than prior."
That got Sitara instantly beaming. And I gazed at Ishan with utter incredulity.
"I'm not ignoring him." My tone was more defensive than required and Ishan flashed a knowing smile on my way.
