The past and present may be confusing, so read this chapter with a fresh mind!! (It's nothing complicated but still)

And everytime I fake a smile,
I wonder how it is to be happy and carefree?
I wonder if everyone's demons stay in their back of mind or is it just me who can't smile freely?
I wonder if it's just me whose body reacts differently to foreign touch or does that happen to everybody?
I wonder if ''ever,
I will be able to smile and stay happy.

Amara Monroe

"Come on, don't be so secretive, Amara. Fill us in with every detail." Hazel said. "Rehne do, Hazel. Wo hume dosht nahi maanti." Anastasia supported her by emotionally blackmailing me. I don't know why they're so fervent on knowing what Eiran and I did, almost the entire night, which was three days back.

"Dosht nahi dost hota hain" I corrected her wrong Hindi which she purposely used after we had binge watch "Maharaj" film on Netflix a day back. She liked the chemistry between the two leads and is rooting for some kind of same drama in her life.
Quote unquote 'if I behave like the female lead and start saying wrong Hindi, maybe I'll get my sapno ka maharaja who'll correct my Hindi and fall in love with me.' so freaking delusional (not that I complain, I was the first one to hype her up).

Ofcourse we are girl's girl so we're gonna correct her Hindi until she finds her right match.

"Whatever it is, don't drag the matter, just spill the beans already." Ana grumbled underneath her breath. "Don't be dramatic guys instead pay attention to what Mr. Fretz is teaching." I drawled not wanting to become our professor's target for the second time in a day- which can surely blemish my image- and is the last thing that I want.

"Oh so now the topper nerd is awaken in you" Hazel scowled, "where was this side of you gone when you were busy making out with Eiran huh?" She teased, making my eyes go wide.

"What are you talking about, Haze?" I almost screamed. "I didn't do any such unholy things," They didn't budge, "fine I'll tell you guys today once we reach my apartment so that Mavis can listen too. Now focus on the lecture before we get kicked out." I pleaded and finally their eyes glowed with excitement before they turned their attention towards the professor.

However, can't say the same about me. My mind was drawn back to the day of his birthday night where we were having a good time. But then, my sister made a wish which I couldn't possibly deny.

three days back, the night of eclair's bday.

"what happened Mave? Tell me." I asked her as soon as I saw her face losing its color. "I..I just wanted to meet you so I came here." Mave replied monotonously which made my brows furrow. Something's fishy. "Mave look at me and answer truthfully." I demanded and she turned to me with a sigh leaving her lips.

Her polished mahogany like brown orbs shine under the moonlight as she stared at me for a second before saying, "I missed you dii, can we just go to your place and have a girls night?" My eyes widened hearing her request. It's been one year since I last saw my sister. She's the only one I have been in touch with and the one who doesn't try to invade my personal space.

"What about Windsor?" I arched a brow at her, interrogating if she has taken a holiday from her academy just because she missed me? "They have given us study leave for like a week to prep for the upcoming tests." She answered truthfully with a small pout lingering on her face. A small smile crept up on my lips looking at her pouting. I've seriously missed her so much.
