Chapter 5 echoes part i

In 2007, Maya Lopez was in an elementary school classroom.

"Oh, it's younger Maya," said Bucky.

"She's at an elementary school in 2007?" said Peter. "She looks like she's around eight, so that means she was born in 1999? She's only two years older than me?"

"Jesus, first Peter, then Kate, and now Maya," said Clint. "They're just getting younger and younger."

"It's only because of the Blip," said Stephen. "Based on her age, it means that she didn't Blip either. Maya should be twenty-five in December 2024."

She read her teacher's lips and started to finish her work. The teacher walked to her desk and smiled as she saw that Maya had finished all her work.

"Smart," said Natasha. "What is she doing leading idiots like the Tracksuits?"

She and her father, William Lopez, discussed what sounds a dragon made in her room.

"And this adorable girl grew up to become the leader of the Tracksuit Mafia," said Thor.

Maya realized that her father couldn't pay for the deaf school.

All of them looked at Maya sympathetically.

Later, she was watching a younger Kazi facing an opponent at her karate class.

"They've known each other since they were kids?" said Bruce. "Interesting."

She watched the movement of their legs.

"Good, the legs are the easiest part to go for," said Peter.

"That's the advice Tony gave you," Steve remembered.

"And it somewhat worked until you smacked me with the shield."

Steve snickered.

"Uncle will take you home after class," William said while wearing a Tracksuit.

"So that's how Maya is a part of the Tracksuits," Rhodey realized. "Her dad was too."

Maya's uncle pinched her cheek and chuckled.

Everyone's eyes narrowed.

"Uncle?" Clint said suspiciously.

Years later, an older Maya was in the boxing ring fighting an opponent. She kicked him with her prosthetic leg.

"Prosthetic leg?" Bucky said curiously.

She smirked as she quickly took him down.

Natasha grinned. It reminded her of when she quickly took down Happy in the boxing ring.

She rode to Fat Man Auto Repair on her motorcycle.

The group chuckled at the name of the shop.

"Who names their shop 'Fat Man'?" Sam laughed.

Through the window, she could see Ronin slaughtering the Tracksuits. Maya burst in and found dead bodies everywhere.

Everyone instantly turned an unhealthy shade of grey while Natasha closed her eyes sadly.

Clint instantly blanched as his stomach churned. "What did I do?" he said in horror. He knew that if the Blip had happened for them, then he would've done the same thing. He knew he was capable of it.

She saw Ronin stab William and jump out of the window. She ran to her father. William put a hand on Maya's cheek, leaving a bloody handprint.

All of them flinched.
