Chapter 9: Hyunjin's regret

Hyunjin hisses in pain as Felix cleans Hyunjin's wound, Felix dabbed on the cut gently, not wanting Hyunjin to be in pain. Hyunjin stares at Felix for a moment, looking hesitant to speak up,
"Felix, I'm... I'm sorry that I've decieved you for a long time now..."
He said and Felix looks down for a moment before glancing back up at Hyunjin,
"It's fine, Hyunjin... I forgive you,"
Hyunjin just nodded and there was a moment of silence between the two. Felix's heart started beating faster, he didn't expect Hyunjin to look this hot with scars on his face. Hyunjin sighs and shook his head as he looks down,
"But... I can't believe those bitches did that..."
He said quietly and Felix smiles softly, happy that Hyunjin genuinely cares for him but still upset because Hyunjin had went overboard,
"Let's not talk about this anymore, okay? We came here to celebrate Ni-ki's birthday,"
Felix replies and Hyunjin just nodded as he gets up from his seat and then he glances at Felix. He slightly smiles at Felix and Felix was taken aback, Felix felt a flutter in his heart for a moment before Hyunjin signaled him to come forward.
As they left the room, many people were watching them and Hyunjin just glares at everyone which made them scared. He took Felix by the wrist as he brings him inside the house, Felix stares at Hyunjin, his eyes clearly in awe and admiration.
As they entered the house, Ni-ki was standing there, talking with Sunoo and Han,
"Oh, hyung! Where did you go,"
Ni-ki exclaimed and the friend's attention shifts to Hyunjin and Felix. Hyunjin glances at Han for a moment who just narrows his eyes upon seeing him and looks away,
"Nothing... There was just a huge commotion going on back there,"
Felix replies simply and glances at Han, flashing a smile at him before turning to Ni-ki,
"What happened?"
Ni-ki asks, genuinely curious and Felix was hesitant. Hyunjin notices this and decided to speak up for Felix,
"Mmm, I think it's better if we forget about what happened just then. Let's focus on the celebration first,"
Hyunjin said and they all chuckle, except for Han who just glares at Hyunjin and obviously looked annoyed,
"Well... Thank you all for coming, guys, I had a great time,"
Ni-ki said shyly and they all smile, Felix ruffles Ni-ki's hair and chuckles, thinking he was cute when he's shy. Sunoo and Han now took turns to ruffle Ni-ki's hair and they all chuckled, Hyunjin smiles as he glances at everyone, happy to see that everything was back to normal, except the bullying situation. Hyunjin wanted to get into terms with Han and the others, he hates and regrets how he used to be now, but Hyunjin didn't know how to start a conversation with Han because they were in bad terms. He usually just glances at Han whenever he's speaking with someone else and whenever Han glances back at him, he just narrows his eyes and looks away from Hyunjin, which made him annoyed. After few minutes, he saw that Han was alone, typing on his phone because Ni-ki was speaking with Sunoo and Felix was speaking with his others friends, Chang-bin and I.N. He glances at Han and approaches him, his stride confident and calm,
"Hey, Han, you're not messaging your future boyfriend, are you?"
Hyunjin smirked, his voice dripping with mockery.
"I mean, it must take a lot of skill to ignore the rest of the world like that."
Han glances at him, he stares at Hyunjin who stopped infront of him, he was obviously annoyed and mad,
"Shut up, Hyunjin. Some of us actually have lives,"
He shot back, irritation lacing his tone. He couldn't help but feel the weight of Hyunjin's gaze, even if he pretended to ignore it,
"Lives? Is that what you call it?"
Hyunjin scoffed, stepping closer,
"I thought you were just avoiding reality."
Han paused, the annoyance fading for just a moment as he contemplated Hyunjin's words. There was something else in his tone, something that hinted at a deeper intention behind the mockery,
"You really think you know me that well?"
Han challenged, finally meeting Hyunjin's gaze,
"Maybe I want to,"
Hyunjin replied, a hint of sincerity breaking through his voice,
"Maybe it's time we actually talked."
Han narrowed his eyes, the annoyance creeping back as he considered Hyunjin's unexpected behavior,
"Talk? You? Since when do you care about what I have to say?"
He crossed his arms defensively, though a flicker of curiosity covered his face,
Hyunjin took a step closer, the smirk fading from his lips,
"Maybe I'm tired of the jokes, Han. Maybe I'm tired of pretending that you don't matter,"
He said, his voice dropping to a more serious tone,
"It's easy to poke fun, but I'm not just some guy who wants to make you mad,"
Hyunjin admits. Han swallowed hard, caught off guard by the vulnerability that he sensed in Hyunjin's words,
"This isn't some twisted confession, is it?"
He replied, a hint of sarcasm still lingering in his voice,
"Because I'm not in the mood for games,"
"Who said anything about games?" Hyunjin shot back, his frustration bubbling just beneath the surface,
"I'm just trying to figure out why you keep pushing me away when it's clear there's something more between us,"
Han's heart raced, feeling overwhelmed and at loss of words,
"You- You think there's something more? Just because you're bored?"
He tries to act tough but his voice betrayed him, he stuttered instead which caught him off guard,
"No,"
Hyunjin said firmly, his gaze piercing,
"I think there's something worth exploring. And if you'd just stop hiding behind that phone for a second, maybe you'd feel it too,"
The silence hung heavy between them, the air charged with tension. Han looked down, contemplating the weight of Hyunjin's words, before suddenly getting interrupted by Sunoo and Ni-ki,
"Hyung, come on, let's go!"
Sunoo grumbled as he pulls Han's arm. Hyunjin as well got interrupted by Felix, they both shot glances at eachother before turning away. As Han walked away with Sunoo and Ni-ki, Hyunjin watches them and turns to Felix with a small smile. He notices Chang-bin and I.N next to him, looking all bewildered and tooken aback,
"What?"
Hyunjin asks, in a calm manner as he glances at both Chang-bin and I.N, with a layer of frustration under the surface,
"You're... You're friends with Hyunjin!?"
They ask, both confused and dumbfounded,
"Hmm... Kind of I guess, but so what?"
Chang-bin widens his eyes and stares at Felix, a hand over his mouth and both Hyunjin and Felix chuckle at the same time. I.N narrows his eyes as he watches them closely,
"I just... Can't believe it, I thought you hated eachother!"
I.N exclaimed and they chuckle again, glancing at eachother,
"I think Hyunjin has changed alot,"
Felix admits quietly, watching Hyunjin laugh in awe. He felt his heart beating faster but he quickly realises what he was thinking of and shook his head, before chuckling again with Hyunjin.
