(Cringe Chapter Warning)

Zara and I made our way back up the stairs to my bedroom.

After fumbling around with the door to the cave, I closed the secret entrance.

"So why couldn't you tell me who you were talking to down there?" asked Zara.

"I thought that you'd still freak out and to answer your other question, I was talking to the guy who keeps sending me creepy messages," I answered.

Zara's jaw dropped to the floor. "You mean like face to face?"

I nodded. "Now that we've explored the secret room, I think we should go do something that doesn't involve my powers."

"How about ice cream? That could be fun, right?" Zara suggested. "Remember when we were kids, and we would put both of our weekly allowances together to buy as much ice cream as we could?"

"I remember having a stomachache almost every time all the way home and even throwing up a few times."

We laughed at the thought of doing that again and headed for the best ice cream parlor on this side of Jewel.

Icey Dream was a little ways past the high school but not as far as the museum. It sat pretty much in between the two.

It looked like a normal ice cream shop with an inviting outside area and places to sit and enjoy your cold, creamy treat. But Icey Dream has unusual flavors that are always changing from day to day. For example, one day they could have strawberry ice cream and white chocolate the next. And if you don't like ice cream, there's a fro-yo section, too. The toppings come in all shapes and sizes. There're gummy bears, marshmallows, and any other topping you can think of.

"Which flavor are you thinking of getting?" asked Zara as we walked in.

"I'll have to take a look at what they have today, first," I replied.

Today the shop had vanilla (obviously), cotton candy, blackberry, grape, lemon-lime, pomegranate, watermelon, birthday cake, mint chocolate-chip, rocky-road, coffee, and peanut butter.

We walked up to the counter to ask for our flavors.

Zara went first, "Can I have a medium cone of vanilla and coffee with rainbow sprinkles, please? Thank you!" The girl behind the counter scooped the ice cream into the cone and sprinkled the mini rainbow sprinkles onto the cone then handed it to Zara.

Then me, "I'll also have a medium cone of grape and blackberry with some . . . actually never mind, I don't want any toppings." The girl behind the counter scooped my ice cream into the cone and handed the cone to me.

Zara and I went outside to eat our ice cream. We found an empty table and sat down.

After a while of talking and trying to lap up the ice cream before it started dripping down our hands, Zara pulled something out of her bag. "I've wanted to show you these since I made them, but I didn't know when to do it."

"Well, no time like the present." I answered with a smile.

She showed me a pair of objects that resembled earbuds. "Their communication devices so I could help with computer stuff because—"

"You're much better at that than I am," I finished for her. I smiled, "Thanks Zara. The last time I tried to make a computer do something for me, it locked me out. I can't even remember what I did to make that happen."

"I'm glad you liked the idea," she said, smiling from ear to ear. "Does this mean I can have a code name?"

I let out a giggle. "How about something simple. Unless you want to spend all week talking about it."
