Almost a month later, Riley had started her field hockey journey for the Paris Olympic Games that would take place in almost 6 days where she still had hope of being called up to represent her country on the European continent. In field hockey, Riley and other young women had to pass a skills test promoted by the USA Field Hockey itself, where after being one of the best in training, Riley was invited to participate in the NADP - (National Development Program)
If there was one thing Riley had in mind after being drafted, it was being chosen for the United States field hockey team to go to Paris to win the gold medal, and Riley made it clear in the training match. 4 goals, this was the total number of goals that Riley scored in the last match that would define who would be with Riley in Paris, since it was a 100% chance that Riley would be called up.
In Ice Hockey, Riley still continues to dominate and break more records and put them to her name for eternity. The season had already started, and Riley's hope, now as captain, of proving herself to the world came in her first professional match.
In the first match of the 24/25 season:
PWHL Minnesota (Away) 0 - 4 PWHL New Jersey (Home), 3 goals from Riley along with the first professional goal from her teammate and friend Daniela Pejšová; PWHL New Jersey (Away) 2 - 0 PWHL Toronto (Home)
July 3, 2024 - 23 days before the Paris Olympic Games start. Riley's family home was quiet with her parents watching a series together and Valentina training in the backyard, while Riley was in her room, quietly while listening to Shakira's iconic song for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Waka Waka and writing things in her notebook.
Riley's room was full of photos that were very important people in her life for her, in addition to the photo of Michael Jordan, Riley had separated several others to keep as memories.
(Rey Skywalker - Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, where when she was little, Riley wanted to be like Rey.)
(Muhammad Ali, a historical figure Riley admired)
