Bubbles, the calico cat, was strutting down the sidewalk on her daily neighborhood patrol, her tail held high in a display of confidence. She hadn't a care in the world until, suddenly, her paw caught on something. She stumbled, catching herself just in time to see the thick vine coiled beneath her, trailing off into the grass. With a flick of her tail and a dismissive leap, Bubbles effortlessly vaulted over the remainder of the vine.

But then, the vine moved. A sinister head—jagged teeth gleaming—lunged toward her with a snapping motion. Bubbles arched her back, her fur standing on end, but before she could make another move, she felt herself scooped up in mid-air.

Talani, a 16-year-old girl with striking blue eyes and brown golden skin, had snatched Bubbles just in time. She landed nimbly on the other side of the sidewalk, holding Bubbles tightly against her chest. Beside Talani, Regan, her best friend and a bubbly, freckled 15-year-old with a mess of curly blonde hair, gasped as another carnivorous head of the vine slithered out from the bushes, snapping viciously in their direction.

The girls exchanged a quick, wide-eyed glance, adrenaline coursing through their veins. A loud bell rang from the nearby school, echoing down the street—a harsh reminder that they were late. Without wasting another second, they bolted down the sidewalk, Talani's shoes slapping against the pavement as she ran, Regan just a step behind.

In the rush, Talani gently placed Bubbles back on the sidewalk, whispering a quick apology before sprinting off with Regan. Bubbles watched as the girls disappeared around the corner, their laughter and hurried footsteps fading into the distance. The calico sat there, her head tilted in utter confusion. One moment she was enjoying her walk, the next she was evading some bizarre, snapping plant and whisked away by two strange humans.

She blinked, staring at the vine's retreating heads as they slinked back into the bushes. The neighborhood suddenly seemed much more unpredictable than she had ever imagined. Bubbles gave herself a brisk shake, then resumed her walk, albeit a bit more cautiously, keeping an eye out for any other surprises lurking in the grass. While the girls rushed off into the distance Bubbles found interest in the two and chased after. Not too far from where the two girls and the cat had previously been, the rustling of bushes could be heard. If they had stayed for just a second longer they may have been able to catch a glimpse of a mysterious silhouette hiding among the foliage watching their every move as if waiting for something or someone.
Talani and Regan skidded up two flights of stairs as fast as possible but it was too late their teacher made it into the classroom before them. They stood at the door awaiting their teachers' acknowledgement, everyone in class looked scared because this was no ordinary school. It was McLodge Magic Refinery Boarding School for young juveniles known for its strict teachers and very tight schedules of classes as well as strict rules with harsh punishments and for being later than the teacher the punishment depended on the teachers mood. But in front of the class stood a young boy and the teacher introduced him as Alexander. Miss Peregrin their teacher, looked at them and further instructed them to sit quickly.
Alexander looked quite calm as he continued the introduction as there were many new faces and he wanted to leave a good impression. From afar Talani observed that Alexander was light skinned, had curly hair and bright hazel eyes. It was as though light was beaming from him as all the girls were staring and judging while admiring him all at once. His gaze wandered off to the two girls that interrupted his introduction but they seemed not to care for his beauty charm spell he had casted upon himself prior. Ms. Peregrine quickly dismissed the situation, telling the children, "Any more concerns can be dealt with after class." Her voice was firm yet not unkind, a tone that demanded attention and left no room for arguments. The students a mix of curiosity and apprehension lingering in their eyes, averted their gazes and focused their attention on their teacher standing at the front of the room. Alexander swiftly took a vacant seat in front of Talini, as if it was waiting for someone to claim it. Other than the introduction of a new student, class resumed as usual. The end of the class was nearing so Miss P. requested a student or two to provide a tour for Alexander since there will be a staff meeting after class, before most persons could have registered what Miss said there were already hands flying in the air at the thought of being able to tour, the new student, Alexander, around campus. Little did they notice a very cute calico cat sitting on the window sill near them at an open window at the back of the class.
Talani was waiting outside class for Regan to finish the test they had, of course Alexander was excused since he had recently transferred. He was waiting with Talani on a floating couch in the hallway. As they sat together the silence was awkward and Talani was begging for Regan to finish quickly, until a loud ''poof'' sound was heard and all that was visible to the eye was a big pink fog consuming the space that was present in the room some sounds can be heard after like something falling to the ground like a loud ''thud'' when the previously known cat, Bubbles looked through the window she couldn't see make out much of the situation at first until the pupils turned like slits which allowed her to not only see better than more animals in the dark but since magic was flowing through this cat's veins it allowed her to see the body heat,heartbeat and breath of other animals. Presently in the eyes of our feline observer we can see various persons body heat on the ground making the mysterious sounds fall into place with her heightened senses she can hear hitched breathing seemingly coming from inside the room which seems out of place since most students should have past out by now making that breathing seemingly connected to our culprit.
Suddenly Bubbles noticed that Talani was waking up , she looked as though she was in a panic she ran into the classroom and searched for Regan NOT giving a flying fuck about Alex who was lying on the floor ''REI ! REI !'' she yelled as loud as possible . ''Over here," a voice whispered. Talani made way to follow the voice, not being able to see Bubbles watching from afar because of the pink like smoke . "Rei !" Talani shouted helping her friend to her feet as she was slumped on the ground.
Not wanting to interfere the flow and her wonderful entertainment Bubbles remained still at the open window, as she watched the girls exit the room as the smoke was flowing out and other students slumped bodies filled the hall a shadow was seen moving through the smoke , it was too dense to recognise the figure since it was still a bit clouded where by u still couldn't see much and all she could make out was their body heat which was evenly spread out unlike the other students. Some could say it was as if they were never in the room to begin with...As the two staggered through the hallways they noticed Alexander was still on the ground passed out looking as if he just went to bed. They were worried and decided to help him to his feet after summoning cold water on his face , which seems to have scared him quite a bit and Regan did not miss the chance to take a picture of him .
