"Sure."
You hesitated for a moment before answering, a hint of uncertainty creeping into your voice. As you stood up, placing your empty plate on the table, you noticed Choso already striding ahead. You glanced back at your classmates, who caught your eye and gave you a knowing nod.
"Where are you heading off to?" Maki called out, pausing mid-food fight with Panda and Inumaki.
You lighty shrugged, then pointed in the direction of Choso's retreating figure. Without a second thought, he glanced over his shoulder, giving you a blank look and a subtle nod to follow him.
"No idea, maybe he wants a tour guide." you replied reasonably, throwing a sheepish smile over your shoulder before waving goodbye.
"Okay, just don't take too long, you two!" Maki called after her, a hint of warning on her voice.
You started to catch up with Choso, jogging slightly to match his long strides. You stole a sideways glance at him, curiosity bubbling up inside you like a gently boiling pot.
"What's up? What do you want to talk about?" you asked, your brow raised in question.
"Just wait until we get away from prying ears," Choso replied quietly, his gaze fixed ahead, unwavering and serious.
The silence that followed was heavy, wrapping around you like a snug blanket. You couldn't shake off the flutter of nerves in your stomach. There was something about this around six-foot guy that made you wonder what he really wanted to talk.
Once you and Choso slipped into that quiet corner of Jujutsu High, the world outside felt a million miles away. It had started raining outside, and you barely made it to the far end before Choso stopped and so did you, his expression thoughtful, while your brows furrowed the whole time in concentration.
Just then, a tiny itch beneath your right eye caught your attention. You absentmindedly scratched it, and to your shock, turned out it was Sukuna's eye, and it blinked open. Panic surged through you, and you jerked your hand back as if you'd touched fire.
"The nerve of this brat to use that filthy finger to scratch my eye is utterly pathetic. You best cut it off before i'll do it myself, tch."
Sukuna's voice reverberated in your mind, sharp and taunting.
Rolling your eyes, you did your best to ignore his mockery. You turned to find Choso looking at you. No, he was looking straight into Sukuna's eye.
"Crap." you muttered under your breath, hastily reaching up to shield the troublesome eye with your palm.
"Just ignore it." you sighed inwardly, glancing back at Choso, who still seemed unfazed.
"It's fine.." he insisted, his voice calm as he gently took your hand, attempting to pull it away from your face. As he did, Sukuna's eye closed once more, and a wave of relief washed over you.
