Yuki clashed with Kenjaku was still ongoing, the air crackling with the tension of their fierce encounter. It was wild and raw, a fight that pushed them both to their limits.
Choso, initially out of the fray, jumped back in, ready to help Yuki. Their teamwork felt like a dance of desperation—Yuki's agile form darting around, distracting Kenjaku while throwing everything she had at him. Every strike was a testament to her resolve, her techniques slicing through the air with fierce precision.
Meanwhile, Choso seized every moment, eyes locked on the coveted black orb that Kenjaku clutched tightly.
They were deep in the clash when a realization hit Yuki like a cold wave: Kenjaku's distractions weren't simply about curses. No, he was plotting something far sinister. Before she could even think of countering with her reverse curse technique, Kenjaku unleashed his gravity attack, pulling her down with a force that felt like the world was bearing down on her.
But amidst the chaos, Yuki managed a glimmer of triumph; she snatched the black orb from Kenjaku's grip.
"Well, well? You think that's all you got, Tsukumo?" Kenjaku sneered, lunging to reclaim what was his. In a split second, he blasted a hole through Yuki's lower torso, a fatal blow that sent shockwaves through her.
Choso stared in horror from the ground, his heart racing, knowing time was slipping away. Yuki, in a moment, in a desperate gamble... she opened her mouth and swallowed the black orb where y/n was tralled—yuki's last hope before everything went dark.
Someone had to sacrifice to free those trapped within.
"Choso, you have to—" she gasped, urging him away. Choso wanted to help and save her, but Yuki's plea cut deep.
As gravity's grip tightened, Yuki felt her body crack and crumble, the harsh reality sealing her fate.
"TSUKUMO!!" Choso's anguished scream echoed through the clearing, drowning in a sea of emotion.
The battlefield fell silent for a heartbeat. Yuki was unrecognizable, battered and broken, the struggle with Kenjaku leaving its marks. Yet even in her final moments, a wave of relief washed over her—she had saved Choso and Y/N. She would never regret this choice.
"Choso. Here and now. You've died a curse." Yuki murmured, her voice barely a whisper. "And for y/n, my life will become her second chance."
With her last words hanging in the air, Yuki morphed herself, transforming herself into a swirling Black Hole. It pulsed with energy, growing until it unleashed a cataclysmic explosion that shattered a significant part of Jujutsu High, right above the Tombs of the Star.
"Tch...." In contrast, Kenjaku stood seething, his sly grin wiped away in an instant. Yuki's sacrifice had left him enraged; he could feel the anger bubbling up inside him.
He was already battered and bruised, but a dark glint flickered in his eyes as he prepared to move another vicious attack. Just then, Master Tengen's voice rang out from the distance, breaking through the chaos.
And just like that, Kenjaku vanished, he knew he wasn't done yet. And he left them behind a brutal scene—a reminder of he'd wrought.
As the dust settled and Kenjaku disappeared, Choso painstakingly pushed himself to his feet. His body ached fiercely, but he couldn't just lie there. He recalled Yuki's final words.
The aftermath of Yuki's explosion revealed a dark plume of smoke, rising from the spot where she had left the world behind. Choso stumbled forward, tears brimming in his eyes.
"Tsukumo sacrificed her life so we could live..." he murmured, exhaustion weighing down his words. "... but I wished it could have been different. I wanted to save her." A profound sorrow wrapped around him like a shroud; he had lost yet another friend.
Choso couldn't shake the nagging thought that Yuki's decision to swallow y/n's black orb was useless, and didn't worked. He stood at the edge of the wreckage, his gaze fixed on the destruction, waiting for the smoke to clear.
As the smoke began to dissipate, his heart skipped a beat. To his shock....
There lay, was y/n. Her body exposed but gladly shielded by fragments of rock. She was unconscious on the ground, but what left Choso breathless was the undeniable truth that she was... older.
"W-wait a second..."
It wasn't just a passing thought—she was longer and taller, her features more mature, around late 20s or a little less. No longer the same teenage figure like the students from jujutsu high he remembered.
Without a moment's hesitation, Choso retreated just enough to find the remnants of his torn clothing from earlier. He needed to cover her naked body.
So, Yuki's decision had worked. She had given everything. She gave her life to y/n. And y/n will also live for her.
Choso burst through the chaotic scene, his heart racing like a wild drum. As he approached y/n, a figure draped in shadow, he took a moment to gather himself. He closed his eyes, inhaling deeply.
Gently, he leaned down with his eyes still closed, brushing away the jagged rocks that covered her exposed body, each touch a silent prayer for her safety. When he finally cleared the last of the debris, he draped the remaining cloth over to cover her.
Opening his eyes again, Choso felt a surge of tenderness. He wrapped his arms around y/n, preparing to lift her, but a strange sensation stopped him cold. He couldn't help but study her face, noting the subtle changes, the quiet maturity etched into her features.
"I'm confused.... Is this the result when tsukumo swallowed the orb? Did it open some kind of black hole, causing y/n to age? No... I can't dwell on that now. I'll get my answers later once she's treated. But for now, she needs me."
With a final, lingering glance at her face, Choso steeled himself. He turned away from the dark corridor of tombs, his heart heavy but determined. There was a world waiting beyond, and he wouldn't let anything take her from him again.
