Losing him was blue, like I'd never known
Missing him was dark gray, all alone
Forgetting him was like trying to know
Somebody you never met
But loving him was red
Oh, red
Burning red-I was singing in my room while finishing getting ready when someone knocked at my bedroom door.

"Gosh, I love Taylor Swift," JJ said as he entered and flopped onto the bed. Immediately, Poggie and Cookie jumped on top of him.

"Oh, I love you two too," he added, kissing the golden retrievers.

"You don't love Taylor, shut up," I replied, laying down with them. Cookie, just 2 years old, nuzzled up to me.

"Of course I do, otherwise I wouldn't have this," JJ said, showing me the bracelet I'd made for him.

"You don't love Taylor; you love me. That's why you kept it," I said, resting my head next to his.

"You've got a point," he agreed, looking into my eyes.

"You know, one day we're going to have this conversation," he continued.

"What are you talking about?" I asked, confused.

"I know you're not joking when you say you love me, and I know that because I'm not joking when I say it to you," he said, leaving me speechless.

"JJ, of course I love you, like I love JB or Pope and Kie," I said, trying to change the subject.

"I know you don't love me like you love them, Izz," he said, closing his eyes.

"I don't want to talk about this now. Let's go," I said, getting up and heading downstairs. A few minutes later, JJ joined me.

"Bye everyone, love you!" I shouted to my family as we went out to the back door. My mom was in the garden.

"Morning, my babies," she said in a sweet tone, and JJ smiled at her.

"We're going to the chateau, okay?" I asked.

"Okay, sweetie, take care, you two," she said.

"Always," JJ replied, looking at me and then back at my mom with those motherly eyes. We continued our walk, which wasn't too long, thanks to Ricky and Big John who had built a path connecting both houses.

"DCS! I know you're in there!" JJ shouted as we arrived at the chateau. He jumped to the window where John B was sleeping.

"Whoa!" John B exclaimed, half-asleep.

"Gotcha, slick," JJ continued laughing.

"Hello, brother," I said as he opened the door to let us in.

"Hi, Izz," he said, hugging me. It had been hard to leave him the previous day after we found something that belonged to his dad, but I understood he needed some space.
