'Where have you been?'
The question lingered between you and Aemond.
You married him for an alliance and you knew he didn't love you, but in a sense you loved him. Maybe it wasn't love, but you still cared for him deeply. Even if he hadn't really touched you since the consummation of the marriage.
One night he just left and didn't come back for days.
"I've been at Harrenhall. I need to secure the stronghold and that's going to take some time. I just wanted to tell you that I'm there for the foreseeable future.", Aemond told you. Your heart sank. Harrenhal.
You knew he wasn't there for the security of the hold. It was for her... Alys Rivers. You didn't show him that it got to you though so the next question came.
'Do you know when you're coming back?'
He looked at you annoyed. You swallowed and clarified with "I just meant an approximation." Still he sighed at you in annoyance.
"No, Y/n. That's why I said 'foreseeable future'. I'll be back when I'm back.", his tone was cold. With that he turned around and left again. All you could do was stand there and watch him leave you.
'Since you been gone I've got along, but I've been sad.'
You wrote to him often. It's been weeks at this point. You were sad or maybe humiliated by him. You started to care less and less every day he didn't write back.
'I tried to put it out for you to get. Could've, should've, but you never did. Wish you wanted it a little bit more, but it's a chore for you to give.'
You blamed Alys for everything. You wrote a hateful letter to Aemond telling him you knew about his Witch Queen. That you didn't care when or if you would see him again. That you couldn't care less that he didn't write back and that he would never hear from you again.
It seemed like you were just a chore for him.
'Where have you been? Do you know if you're coming back?'
Even if you hated Aemond, the questions still lingered. You had to mentally strain yourself not to write to him again but it got easier with time.
'We were too close to the stars'
With the passage of time you sought comfort in Aegon. And he in you.
It started when he offered you a ride on his dragon, Sunfyre. You gladly accepted just to get your mind off Aemond. And he came to you to get his mind off the deaths of his son and sister-wife Helaena.
'I never knew somebody like you, somebody fallin' just as hard.'
Soon it became more. A stolen kiss here and there and that bloomed into a strong love.
You fell for him. Hard. It honestly surprised you. The brother of your husband. You never thought you'd be unfaithful, but you felt it was justified. It's not like Aemond had been faithful to you.
'I'd rather lose somebody than use somebody.'
He fell for you just as hard, though he was ashamed. His brother's wife. But he knew why you let him. Aemond. When he had asked you about him you only said one word. Harrenhall. He knew enough by then.
'Maybe it's a blessing in disguise.'
Knowing where Aemond was, was enough justification for the two of you to explore this new found love. You couldn't get enough of each other.
'I see my reflection in your eyes.'
Flying on Sunfyre to find a peaceful place to just sit and talk for hours. Getting lost in each other's presence.. or eyes. Sometimes you wouldn't even talk to each other because the other's company was enough.
One day, you and Aegon talked about marriage. You felt guilty because you were already married, but you weren't happy.
Aegon knew that. And he reminded you of it adding "plus, I'm the king. I could annul your marriage to Aemond if you'd so please."
In all honesty, you'd been having such a great time with Aegon you had nearly forgotten he was the king.
You agreed to marry him.
You quickly wrote a letter to Aemond.
"Dear Aemond,
I hope this letter finds you and your witch well. I only write to let you know that I've asked Aegon, second of his name, you know the rest, Targaryen to annul our marriage. I wish to marry Aegon instead. In your absence we've bonded.
Regards, your 'soon to be ex' wife"The letter was just a formality and to spite him aswell. You didn't need to tell him you'd be marrying Aegon but you just wanted revenge. Though you truly loved Aegon and he loved you, you just wanted some kind of justice for his actions.
'I know you're sick. Hopin' to fix whatever's broken.'
It was the day of the royal wedding.
Aegon got the small council to agree to annul the marriage without Aemond present and less then a week later you were looking at yourself in the vanity mirror. You looked beautiful.
The walk down the aisle with Aegon waiting was one of the happiest moments in your life, only bested by the moment after your vows.
It wasn't long lived though. The Septon was about to declare you man and wife when Vhagar's thunderous roar sounded and the loud flapping of her wings.
Aemond had returned.

I know there's more to the song but I'm getting tired and didn't know how to continue so a smooth cliffhanger ending will have to suffice.
