The following morning, the castle was a whirlwind of activity. The grand festival had arrived, and the air was charged with excitement and anticipation.
"Prince Virat!" the herald's voice boomed, echoing through the courtyard as the gates swung open.
Hardik watched from the shadows, his heart in his throat, as a majestic carriage pulled by six white horses drew closer. The man who stepped out was tall and broad-shouldered, with a smile that could charm the birds from the trees.
Prince Virat's eyes searched the crowd, and when they landed on Rahul, they lit up like the sun.
Rahul, ever the gracious host, strode forward, his own smile genuine as they embraced. "Welcome, my friend," he said, his voice carrying across the cobblestones.
Virat's laugh was rich and warm. "It's been too long," he said, clapping Rahul on the back. "I've heard much about your dragons."
The crowd erupted in cheers, their excitement palpable.
Hardik felt a pang in his chest as he watched them together. He knew he had to stay focused on their mission, but it was difficult when his heart felt so heavy.
The two princes made their way into the castle, surrounded by a sea of courtiers and well-wishers. Hardik trailed behind, feeling more like a shadow than a dragon rider.
"Who is that?" Virat asked, nodding in Hardik's direction.
Rahul followed his gaze, his expression unreadable. "That's just Hardik," he said, his voice casual. "One of our best dragon riders."
Virat's eyes lingered on Hardik, curiosity flickering in their depths. "He seems quite... intense," he said, his voice measured.
Rahul shrugged. "He takes his job seriously," he said, his tone dismissive. "Now, come, I'll show you to your quarters."
Hardik felt the sting of the prince's words, his heart shattering into a million pieces. He watched as Rahul led Virat away, his stride confident and sure.
Rohit, noticing his distress, stepped closer, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. "Don't let it get to you," he murmured. "Remember, we have a mission."
Hardik nodded, his throat tight. "I know," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "But it's hard to ignore."
"I know," Rohit said, his eyes understanding. "But you must. For now, we have work to do."They made their way through the bustling corridors, the sound of their footsteps lost in the din.
"What do we do now?" Hardik asked, his voice hollow.
"We watch," Rohit said, his eyes sharp. "And we wait."
The festival was in full swing, with people from all over the kingdom gathered to celebrate. The air was filled with the scent of roasting meats and the sound of laughter and music. But for Hardik, the joy was tinged with bitterness.

Rohit's plan was simple, yet effective. "We've searched the festival grounds, the dragon enclosures, and the kitchens," he said, his eyes gleaming with determination. "But the spy will likely make a move tonight, and where else would he go but to Prince Virat's chamber?"
Hardik nodded, his mind racing. "So we wait outside his doors?"
"Exactly," Rohit said, a smirk playing on his lips. "We'll catch him in the act."
But as the night grew darker, and the castle's halls grew quieter, Hardik found himself summoned by the king for an unexpected meeting. His heart racing, he followed the guard, leaving Rohit to keep vigil.
