Flash and Darkseid clash in the middle of the battlefield as energy crackles through the air and shakes the ground that they stand on, Flash hits Darkseid with a hard uppercut followed by a focused punch to the chest as Darkseid slides back and grits his teeth; Darkseid grabs some nearby cars and throws them at the Flash alas the speedster runs straight at Darkseid and phases through them

The speedster returns back to his tangible state unfortunately he is struck in the chest by two omega beams, Flash buries his feet into the ground and yells out in pain actually feeling the beams nonetheless he persists and pushes through the pain; Darkseid launches himself forward and grabs Flash by his metallic face and drags the speedster across the street before the man up into the air once again Darkseid fires his omega beams as the speedster creates two speed mirages causing the two beams to hit them instead of him

Flash comes rocketing down in a ball of lightning as Darkseid launches himself up into the air to meet the speedster on as the two opposing force clash in the middle of the sky; the sheer impact shatters nearby windows and sends a shockwave that knocks the both of them out of the sky; Flash spins his arms around creating small wind funnels to smooth his landing and returns safely, Flash groans still feeling all of the hits he has taken so far

"Bastard knows how to throw a punch.."

Darkseid must have faced other beings who have stood up to him and taken over their planet but this wasn't going to happen to his world, it wasn't going to happen to Earth as the fastest man holds out his hands as the clouds begin to darken around Metroplis; the air crackles with the speedforce as Darkseid looks up seeing those clouds and cannot help but smirk

Years and years has the Dark God faced those who would resist his rule and yet he has never met one that brought this kind of power to the battlefield; Darkseid was genuinely impressed as multiple bolts of lightning struck him all at once as the electricity boiled his blood and nerves as Darkseid screamed out in fury and pain

Deep down the ruler of Apokolips knew that the speedster should have been the one to take instead of the kryptonian, the speed combined with his parademon would make them utterly unstoppable alas the fastest man alive was too much of a threat to be kept alive but perhaps after killing the speedster; the remains could prove to be more than useful as Darkseid slammed his large fists into the ground

The ground cracked beneath the Flash as he found himself inside of a subway station with people who weren't able to get to safety on time as Darkseid crashed through the ground and saw them, a dark grin formed on his lips as he fired multiple omega beams at the innocent bystanders causing the Flash to run around the subway and take those blasts so no one would die on his watch

Darkseid:Your compassion makes you weak and predictable

One of the omega beams curves out of the way of the way and incinerates a nearby couple as the speedster screams out; their bodies are reduced to nothing but ashes as they slip through his fingers, Darkseid uses this window of opportunity and lands a punch to the back of the speedsters head followed by mean uppercut that breaks away at his armor; anger flows throughout every nerve in the Flash's body as he doesn't hesitate and lands a couple of swift but powerful punches all across Darkseid's face and body

Alas the Dark God merely laughs clearly  enjoying this ongoing fight and counters with his own rapid punches, both yell in determination as they both add more speed and strength behind those punches to the point where their fists starts to clash against one another matching in blurs that were too fast to be perceived by the human or alien eye

And while the pain was merely a reminder that this fight was more than real, it became nothing more than a nuisance to them both as their fight raged on to the point where blood spilt as the armor that the speedster once dawned had served its purpose; both of them panted heavily as it took them a couple of seconds to recover having taken most of it out on each as the voice of Shazam called out Darkseid

Shazam:Hey, Darkseid!

Shazam flew past the speedster and winded back his fist to land a punch only for it to be caught by Darkseid, despite having taken alot out of him there was still enough for the Dark God to keep on fighting and although his attacks wouldn't be as strong; it would suffice for now and just as the Flash was about to step in to help

He was immediately grabbed by a big green hand and pulled away from the fight; Green Lantern gently sets his best friend back down and checks up on him but when he does there was only blood and small pieces of the armor barely hanging onto the fastest man alive

Green Lantern:Dude. What the hell happened to you? You like you just went through a whole war by yourself...

But the speedster was in no mood for jokes as he turned his back on his friend and was about to go and assist Shazam but was stopped by Wonder Woman who stood in his way as her eyes filled with nothing but concern as he reassured her

"I'm fine..we have to help Shazam. C'mon lets--"

Just as the Flash took a step forward, he stumbled forward as Wonder Woman immediately caught the speedster and forced him to sit down seeing how much his lone fight against Darkseid took out of him; granted that Darkseid had been weakened enough for all of them to do some damage but at the cost of their strongest exhausted

Wonder Woman:We will deal with Darkseid. In the meantime you need to rest, Jason..

For once Jason could see that Diana wasn't acting like her usual warrior bravado but more like a worried sister to her little brother; regardless there was too much on the line for Jason to rest alas Diana proved to be resilient on having Jason stay seated

Green Lantern:She's right. You did more than enough, let us do our part. When you have enough energy then you can come back and show that bastard whose boss!

If it wasn't for his entire body begin utterly sore then Jason would have just ran past them but due to his current state; all he could do was nod his head and remain seated and with that both Green Lantern and Wonder Woman flew off to join the others against the fight the Dark God as the speedforce crackled throughout Jason's fingertips showing that he was going to join the fight soon enough
