Clank. Clank. Click, Clank.

Loki only walks forward as the guards bring him to his cell. His new home for eternity. He had lost the battle against the Avengers and he knew that something worse would be coming for him.

When?

The cell walls buzz closed as he is left alone, isolated. Locked away, never to be seen again. He was provided books and furniture, but what use is that?

Useless...

Just like himself. Loki chuckled softly as he took one of the books. He sat down in the corner of the cell and opened the book. After a second or two he slammed the book shut. He couldn't focus. He made a fool of himself on Midgard and worst of all, failed. He squeezed his eyes shut and gritted his teeth. The damn tesseract. The damn Avengers.

Damn him.

Everywhere hurt. Hi back, his legs, his hands, and especially his head. That green monster had probably smashed him skull to pieces. Not that anyone cared. All they wanted was him locked up in a cell to rot. He was always the bad guy after all. No matter what age.

I want to be the warrior though, Thor!

No, Loki, you have to be the big mean dragon and us warriors have to slay you!

That oaf. He was never his brother. He never loved him.

What even is love?

Loki laid on top of the white-sheeted bed and tried to fall asleep. It should keep him entertained for a few hours. He had nothing else to do here after all.

How is he even going to survive this? Might as well kill himself in here before he does. Loki shut him eyes and cleared his mind.

You will have your war, Asgardian. If you fail, if the Tesseract is kept from us, there will be no realm, no barren moon, no crevice where he can not find you...

I promise, little Prince, we will take good care of you...

Does that hurt, Jotun? That is just a taste of the pain if you keep the tesseract away from us.

Hot...Burning...Fire...

No, No, No, NO!

Loki opened his eyes and jolted up. He was sweating and breathing heavily. He looked around. It had only been an hour. He got out of the bed and looked at the table. There was a plate of food, but he had no appetite.

You want food, little Prince? Then you have to earn it,

Loki brought a shaky hand to his hair and tugged. The pain distracted him, that was good. It was a good pain, one that felt nice. It hadn't been a day and he already felt alone. Too alone.

Water.

He felt thirsty. Loki grabbed a glass of water from the table and drank it all in one gulp. The cool liquid coated his dry throat, relieving him.

"Hello, little Prince,"

Loki turned around to see a face he hoped he would never see again. His hand shook uncontrollably as he scrambled to the corner of a room.

"I told you, if the tesseract is kept away from us, you will always be found," The Other hissed. His voice echoes through the cell.

"You're not real. You're just part of my imagination." Loki said aloud, his voice trembling.

"Oh am I? Just you see, Jotun, just you see."

The figure disappeared, leaving Loki in a state of fear and anger. Why was he so pathetic? He was a Prince. Or, he used to be. He went back on the bed and was afraid to fall asleep again.

Oh, how will he ever survive this torture?

~~~♥~~~
Thor drank a mug of ale, laughing with his friends and forgetting about his troubles on Midgard. The villain was defeated and he came home a hero, just like how Odin wanted him to be.
"But honestly, what had gotten into your brother? He came home looking crazy," Fandral laughed.
Thor set down his ale and furrowed his brows.
"I'm not sure my friends, I'm not sure," he said.
The warrior three and Sif only laughed again, celebrating Thor's victory. However, Thor finished his mug and chuckled slightly.
"If you don't mind, I'll be ending this early. I would like to rest in my chambers." Thor said, his mouth in a thin line.
What had gotten into his brother?
Thor passed by his mother's chambers.
"Not my little boy, Odin, what has happened to my little boy," Frigga sobbed. Thor stopped and watched as Odin tried to comfort his queen.
Thor stood there quietly, deep in his own thoughts.
"Thor, my son, come in,"
Thor snapped back into reality, his father nodding for him to come in. Frigga has wiped most of her tears away, trying to hide that she was clutching a helmet. He recognized that it was a little helmet from when Loki was little.
"Father, Mother," he greeted quietly.
"I know it is really hard, but know, I am very proud of you, my son." Odin said. He beckoned Thor to come closer and gave him a hug.
Thor only sunk deeper into his father, the alcohol taking over his mind slowly.
