ARIZONA JUMPED UP, tapping Kate repeatedly on the arm. "Let's go," she whispered, jumping out of the van and running out towards the open field.

Today was a very important day for the two girls. They were going to do something nobody had ever done before: dissolve a tornado.

Kate's hushed whispers could be heard as she grabbed her camera and then ran after Arizona. She sighed, looking at the clouds looming in the distance.

The wind was starting to pick up as Arizona watched Kate snap a picture. She smelt the rain coming, her skin tingling with a feeling she only got when storms got this bad.

It was Oklahoma, what did she expect?

Giggling and grabbing her friend's arm, Arizona and Kate hurried back to their van, ready to wake the rest of their crew up.

As Kate jumped in through the trunk to wake her boyfriend, Jeb, up, Arizona ran for Javier Rivera, grabbing his blanket and pulling it away.

"Rise and shine, Javi!" she said cheerfully, bending down and kissing his forehead. "We got a big day ahead of us!"

From next to her, Kate honked the horn of one of their vehicles, causing Addy and Praveen to jump awake. Addy groaned, picking up her glasses and putting them on her face.

Arizona saw Javi start to lay back down again, but she grabbed a bag of Cheetos and started pelting them at his face. "Javi! Wake up!"

"Yo, calm yourself, girl!" he exclaimed, sitting up and staring at his two other friends.

This type of situation wasn't unusual for the group. Arizona and Kate had been excited for this day to come since they could remember and now it was finally here.

Once everyone finally got up, Arizona stood next to Kate, fixing her Stetson hat on her head. It was one of the last things she had from her home in Kansas City, so she brought it everywhere. Can't lose it if it's always with her.

"Is it on?" Arizona asked, brushing some of her hair out of her face. She pounded the mud under her boots, the ends of her jeans getting coated in it. It wasn't like that bothered her though, Arizona liked to get dirty.

"Jeb, are you sure you're recording? Is the red light even on?" Kate asked her boyfriend, wringing her hands together with nerves.

"Oh." Jeb looked down at the camera, then back up at the girls. "Yeah, recording."

The feeling of the camera on them caused Kate to stutter. She got nervous, which Arizona could see easily. She grabbed the girl's shoulders, giving them a squeeze.

"You got this," she whispered.

"Okay, um," Kate cleared her throat, flapping the cuffs of her long-sleeve in the air. "Today our science team, the Tornado Tamer Project, will be taking the field, about to chase the storms southwest of us."

"Our experiment is designed to decrease the moisture inside of a tornado to see if we can make it collapse," Arizona continued, a bright smile on her face.

From behind the camera, Jeb said, "Tell the folks how you do that, girls."

"Well, first we have to find a tornado to suck up our super absorbent polymers in these barrels," Arizona said, patting one of the yellow barrels. She looked at Kate, signaling her to continue.

Before she could do so, Addy called their names, whispering, "Diapers. Tell them it's the same stuff they use in diapers."

When Jeb panned the camera over to the blonde girl, she made a face, not expecting to be seen.

"Oh, yeah," Kate said.

As Addy passed by the girls, giving each of them a fist bump, she said, "It's non-toxic," with a small laugh.

"Uh, the doppler doesn't show a storm until the afternoon," Praveen noticed, mentioning the information to Arizona and Kate.

"Well the data doesn't see what Ari and Kate sees, remember?" Addy countered.

"How bout Ari and Kate see a few hours of sleep?" Javi said, shoving food in his mouth. He had black sunglasses covering his eyes, which only made Arizona sigh. She walked over, ripped them off his face and then put them on her own.

"How bout Javi doesn't drink himself to death, huh?" she asked, kissing his cheek.

As Arizona walked back over to Kate, Javi started yelling at Praveen. "Don't put that on there! Dorothy's not a desk!"

Arizona laughed, hugging Addy, who walked over. They did their handshake that took literally forever to come up with.

"C'mon! Get in, get in, get in!" Kate said, now holding the camera. "Ready? You know what today is?"

"The day we tame a tornado!" Arizona and her friends replied, all cheerfully—well, except for Javi...he looked pale and sickly.

They all started laughing and joking around, ignoring how Javi said, "Alright, but I'm gonna yak first," and walked off in the distance.
