They say it's okay.
Okay, if I make mistakes
Okay, if I need a break.
Okay, if I don't care what others say.
Okay, if I want to pave my own way.
They say it's okay.
Okay, if I have a little fat here and there.
Okay, if I feel different than my peers.
Okay, if I hate the person other's love.
Okay, if sometimes I feel like I'm not enough.
So I try to convince myself so. very. much.
That it doesn't matter
That not everyone needs to love-
The person I've created, made to flatter.
But the second I drop my mask,
They all run away.
Maybe because they see reflections of themselves,
Reflections of themselves, in all the disarray.
So I put my mask on.
Be the carefully woven person they all love.
And listen to them say,
That it's okay.
