The air was cold and still as distant chatter filled the room. They stared at each other with two different looks. While his gaze was hard, it held a sensitivity for her. His mouth failed to remain frowned, her dead stare tempted him to smile. Her gaze was tired, over it, done. While she loved him deeply, it was getting hard dealing with the heavy baggage he brought.

They sat in silence, her glare said enough. "Stop sending that bitch and her pups my way Ermias. Next time she even breathes around me, I'm making her ass eat concrete. That's on Kacey's soul" she spat, her arms crossed and face blank. Ermias leaned onto the steel table and laughed at her. "Ian sending her, she coming on her own accord—."

"Then stop her. Call her and tell her to stop fucking with me. Out of all the flunky bitches you fucked she wanna stick around and bother me. And next time Dontae rotten to the core mouth ass call himself checking me I'm letting Chris fling his real lanky, undercover drag queen looking ass to Timbuktu."

Ermias couldn't help but laugh some more at her. Irish tilted her head, not knowing what was so funny. "You cuss real good, baby girl. I can't take your voice seriously." He said through his laughter and she shook her head. "I'm serious Ermias. They causing trouble, shooting, and shit and there were babies out there. My sisters were out there Ermias, they ain used to this." She said, her voice softening as thoughts of her sisters or Janet getting hurt.

"This is serious Ermias. People I care about could've been hurt over bullshit. We're over and everyone gets the memo but you're folks. You told me yourself to be free and to not wait for you." She fought the urge to cry as he stared at her. She couldn't tell if he was taking in her words, or just happy to see her, but she was annoyed. She was hurt.

"I got good things going for me and I know it ain't gone last long but I want to make sure my family straight above all else. I wanna make sure when I'm gone, they don't have to move back to the hood, that they eating well. That they comfortable. Ermias, don't let them ruin that for me. Please." She begged.

He stared at her before sighing. "I gotchu Irish," he said and she let out a breath of relief. "I want you to do it now." She demanded and he scoffed. "No. We already don't have much time."

"I wanna make sure you do it Ermias. I'm serious."

"And I'm serious too Irish. I'm not doing that shit now, but I promise I'll do it. I swear, you got my word."

Irish hesitantly nodded, adjusting her glasses on her head. Again, they were silent, just staring at each other.

"How's Emani doing?" He asked and Irish scoffed. "How dare you ask about the baby you had on me." She said in feigned offense. Ermias jumped to apologize, but she stopped him with her hand to his face. "She's fine. Beautiful. That's a beautiful baby Ermias." She said and he smiled small.
