"Isn't the kitchen so cute?!" My mom says opening and closing all the cupboards.

"Yes. I love the colour." I say running my hand over the paint.

"It's so homey. I'm happy you picked this place over the other." Mer says placing my moms bags on the floor by the front door.

Charli sets down my bags on the kitchen table and looks around at the house.

"What is that smell?" she asks after sniffing the air.

We all stop our actions and then proceed to sniff around. The scent of something rotting enters my nose and I almost gag.

"Check the fridge." Mer says and my mom dashes over to pull the fridge door open. Her expression shifts from annoyed to playful.

"Someone left a carton of milk in here."

With the fridge door open the smell wafts into the whole room, making everyone else gag.

"Christ Beth, close that door and throw that shit out!" Mer says opening the front windows next to the door.

"Let's go see your room!" Charli says running down the small hall. I follow after her to the first door on the left to find a decent sized bedroom, with a small bathroom attached.

"It could use a coat of paint, but otherwise it's pretty nice." Charli says running her hands across the chipped paint.

"I like it." I say and place my bags on the floor.

"So, that party." Charli says looking at me with pleading eyes.

"I guess so, I don't really have anything to do expect for unpacking."

"Good!"

"You said bone yard, what is that?"

"Just a beach down the road with a bunch of washed up trees."

"oh, I see."

"Oh my god you're gonna love Kiara and JJ."

"I still have to unpackkkk" I say dragging my words.

"Please, the moving truck won't be here until tomorrow. So you don't have to unpack anything but your clothes."

I sit and think for a moment before agreeing, I guess she's right.

"Fine."

After a long and drunk ordeal with Mer and my mom, I had finally left the house with Charli. The two had cracked a bottle of wine together and were catching up while Charli got me ready for this beach party. I didn't really know what to wear, but Charli said casual. And that's what I did. Just a simple band tee and some black shorts.

We hop in Charli's jeep and begin to speed down the road, with music blaring out of the car. The top is down and I quickly take two shots of tequila, my nerves slowly starting to eat me up.

"You bring that all the way from Philly?" Charli yells over the music and aggressive wind.

"You never know when you'll be dragged to a party with a bunch of people you don't know!"

Charli laughs at that and we continue to drive down some empty side streets for about 10 minutes.

"Hand that over." She says putting the jeep in park. We had arrived to a small street with multiple cars parked along the sides. It was almost dark and music was blaring from somewhere in the distance.

I hand over my small bottle of tequila after taking another swing of it. Charli downs a couple of shots before jumping out of the car and I follow behind.
