Chapter 21-(Surprise!)

"Azri!" I heard my name and there I saw Jhea running towards me. Mabuti nalang at diko na kasama si Rhein.

He left me after he gave his sweet kiss and the bracelet his hiding. He really meant the words he dropped. And I appreciate it.

"I was looking for you. Do you have any bracelet naba?" She asked nang magkaharap na kami.

She looks exhausted at gulo na ang buhok niya. Siguro ay nakipag-areglo siya makakuha lang ng nametags.

"Why?" I asked.

Ilang segundo din bago niya nasagot ang tanong ko dahil sa paghahabol niya sa hininga niya. Tumakbo ata siya habang hinahanap ako.

But why is she looking for me?

The game is individualized and bawal ang kampihan.

"Do you have any?" She asked again when she finally can breath well.

I put my hands inside the pocket of my jacket. Mabuti nalang talaga at pinasuot ako ng jacket so I can hide my skin and especially the bracelets.

Di nila sinabi na outdoor pala ang laro. And the season is very hot. Kaya naisipan kong magsando at magshorts.

Ugh! Biggest regrets.

"Uh,"

"Here. I'll give you mine. Win the game, Azri." She cutted my words at agarang nilagay sa kamay ko ang bagay na kailangan ng mga estudyante in order to win.

She already have a golden bracelet and a two name tag. I was shocked. She even untie her name tag on her wrist and immediately gave it to me. Kaya mas lalo akong nabigla.

Why is she doing this? She's a competitive woman. Why us she giving up?

"Win the game, Azri." She reapeated her words.

Medyo nalilito pa ako.

Why is everyone wanted me to win?

Firstly, my brother's ex suddenly gave me the bracelet without any challenges and just said to me to win the game. Second, Rheineio hides the bracelet so he could give it to me and also says I must win. And now, Jhea, here in front me saying the same thing.

What is happening to this people? Why do they wanted me to win?

Am I really that special?

"But,"

"No buts, go back to the place where teachers instructed us and give this to them. Please, Azri. Win." She sounds begging.

I just nods but still full of curiosity. She just flashed me a smile and made a wave.

But that smile. It's something. Something is not good.

Manipulative smile.

"Oh, Ms. Reddinson. Ang bilis mo." The head teacher approached me.

I put the things they wanted on the table in front of them. Laking gulat nila when they saw a three gold bracelets and three name tags.

From a terror looks, they flashed their big smiles and claps their hands two times.

"You are good in this game, Ms. Reddinson." One of the head teacher talked.

I didn't make a smile on my face.

Why can't I be happy?

It was just because I felt I cheated. It feels so unfair compare to those people who did their bests to win but failed.

They sapphirewing so they can win. They accepted the challenge so they'll achieve. They put some efforts so they can be the winner in the end.

But why am I so unfair? My nails are clean and have no soil. Meaning, I cheated. And I don't deserve it.

I'm a bitch, I have no mercy, but I know how to appreciate. I know the word fair and unfair.

And I'm unfair. I didn't put some efforts to my tasks. I'm so rude. I'm so unfair.

"Here's the key, Ms. Reddinson. The door is near where the secret room are. You can see a logo of the horse." The other head teacher said and handed me the key.

I can't. I can't accept it. But they say, in order to win, in order to achieve. Efforts is not enough. Sometimes you just need to be unfair. Sometime you just have to be unconscienced.

But this is all wrong.

"Kunin mo na." He said. Kaya naman ay agad ko nalang itong kinuha kahit may bumabagabag pa sakin.

I was trembling when the key is on my hand. Saying to my mind, do I deserve this?

I noticed people gossiping at me while walking on the trails.

But why can't I see the insult in their eyes? Why are they smiling? Why do they look so happy while looking at me?

Now, I really am so curious. What's happening to this people?

I've been standing here in front of the door instructed me. Nakatayo lang ako dito habang nakatingin sa logo ng pinto. May maliit na kabayong naka-pose na tumatakbo.

I jumped when I suddenly heard a bang inside this room. Bigla nalang akong kinabahan at parang gusto ko nalang umatras dahil baka kapag binuksan ko ang pinto na'to, there's a possibility that behind this door is my enemies. And I would be die here.

But that just my thoughts. My phone vibrated for a notification. I opened it at nagulat ako when an anonymous person texted me.

Someone: Open the door.

That's when my heart beats so fast. Pero nagulat nalang ako nang bigla kong binuksan ang pinto.

I thought I'd be die, pero ano 'to?

Why is there a lot of balloons and there's a letter balloons. It spelled as Happy Birthday.

Suddenly, another one bombed again. The room filled with a raining confetti. Maraming tao ang nakangiti at may mga suot na birthday hats. Ang iba naman ay may hawak na balloon while waving it on the air.

Is it, my birthday?

I got still confused. Nilibot ko ang tingin ko at nakita ko sila Jhea, Rhein and my brother's ex girlfriend. Nasa gilid lang sila nakatayo at may mga suot na party hat while Jshuliea is now wearing a comfy clothes unlike kanina. She's wearing a revealing dress.

I got surprised when she really did not smile so I tried to travel my eyes again, and now I know what's the reason she faked her smile.

My brother is here too holding a small chocolate cake. His smile is genuine while looking at me. I've never seen him like this.

His eyes looks so proud.

Unti-unti siyang lumapit sakin saka pinasindihan sa harapan ko ang kandila na nakatayo sa gitna ng cake.

"Happy birthday, Azri." He softly said after he lighted the candle.

"Is it my birthday already?" Hanggang ngayon ay takang-taka pa rin ako. I thought my birthday was next month?

Does it today?

"You forgot. It's today, Azri. Make a wish before you blow your candle." He said.

I did what he said. I closed my eyes for a second and I blow the candle.

I wish he'll love me.

They screwed as I blow my cake. They even sang a happy birthday song. But the tone is different.

"Happy na, birthday mo pa! Happy na birthday mo pa! Eyy, eyy, eyy, eyy! Ilang taon kana! Ilang taon kana! Eyy, eyy, eyy, eyy!" The others sang and I was just laughing because of their singing and dancing skills.

Parang sila pa ang mas masaya kesa sa may birthday ngayon.
