Chapter 4: Colliding Worlds

Shehnaaz's eyes fluttered open, the morning sun casting a warm glow across her room. Today was the day she would start her internship at Dr. Sharma's college, a significant step towards realizing her dream of becoming a doctor. Shehnaaz felt a mix of excitement and nervousness as she prepared herself for the day ahead.

Downstairs, Jenni was already awake, sipping on her coffee and scrolling through her phone. "Morning, future doctor!" she called out cheerily as Shehnaaz entered the kitchen.

"Morning, Jenni. I'm so nervous!" Shehnaaz admitted, grabbing an apple from the counter.

"You'll be fine. Dr. Sharma believes in you, and so do I," Jenni reassured her with a warm smile. "Just be yourself."

Shehnaaz nodded, taking a deep breath to steady her nerves. "Thanks, Jenni. I really needed that."

As she left the house and made her way to the college, Shehnaaz couldn't help but think about Sidharth. She had seen him a few times during her visits to Dr. Sharma's clinic, and his intense, haunted eyes had left a lasting impression on her. There was something about him that pulled at her heartstrings, but she couldn't quite place what it was.

At the college, Shehnaaz quickly got to work, immersing herself in her duties. The day flew by in a blur of patient charts and medical terminology. By the time her shift ended, she felt exhausted but fulfilled.

Just as Shehnaaz was packing up her things, she heard a commotion outside the clinic. Curious, she stepped out to investigate. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw Sidharth standing there, looking lost and agitated. His eyes scanned the area frantically until they landed on her. For a moment, his expression softened, but then confusion and pain took over.

"Trisha?" he whispered, his voice filled with desperation.

Shehnaaz froze, realizing he was mistaking her for his deceased wife again. "No, Sidharth, it's me, Shehnaaz," she said gently, taking a step towards him.

But Sidharth's mind was far from the present. He reached out, his hand trembling. "Trisha, why did you leave me?" His voice broke, and tears welled up in his eyes.

Before Shehnaaz could respond, Dr. Sharma appeared, his face etched with concern. "Sidharth, come with me. Let's go home," he said, guiding his nephew away.

As they left, Shehnaaz stood rooted to the spot, her heart aching for Sidharth. She couldn't shake the feeling that their lives were intertwined in some inexplicable way. Determined to help him, she decided to talk to Dr. Sharma about Sidharth's condition.

Later that evening, Shehnaaz found herself in Dr. Sharma's office, recounting the events of the day. "He thinks I'm his wife, Trisha," she said softly. "Is there anything we can do to help him?"

Dr. Sharma sighed, running a hand through his hair. "It was a wrong decision to ask you to stay away from Sidharth. It’s affecting his condition. Seeing you might be unsettling for him, but it could also be a way to reach him. If you're willing, we can try a new approach."

"I'm willing," Shehnaaz replied without hesitation. "Whatever it takes."

After leaving Dr. Sharma's office, Shehnaaz went home and found her family gathered in the living room. She took a deep breath and told them everything about Sidharth and her decision to help him.

Her father, Raj, looked thoughtful. "Sidharth's father and I were childhood friends," he said. "His family and ours go way back. If there's anything we can do to help, we should." I really never thought that my best friend will hide such a big thing with me.

Shehnaaz's mother nodded in agreement. "You've always had a kind heart, Shehnaaz. If you believe you can help Sidharth, then you have our full support."

Shehnaaz felt a surge of gratitude for her family's understanding and support. "Thank you, everyone. I really believe I can make a difference."

As she lay in bed that night, Shehnaaz felt a renewed sense of purpose. She didn't know what the future held, but she was determined to help Sidharth find peace. Their worlds had collided for a reason, and she was ready to uncover the path that lay .
