Car rides were the one thing I missed most about the East coast.

You get the breeze from the waves flowing their way in from the windows, leaving a light, salty taste in your mouth as soon as you smell it. Not only that, but the view from just a small window is everything. Especially when it comes to my hometown of Virginia Beach.

Because of all the roles I'd been getting in tv shows, I hadn't been able to do anything with my free time, but this summer there was no plans, no interviews, no auditions (that I knew of yet) to go to. I was free for three whole months.

As soon as we arrived at our grandparents house that night, Leena suggested that we go to our spot on the beach from when we were little. I thought it was a great idea, but Tanner was already on his Nintendo in his room, so we set off on a mile walk to the beach without him. With the beach in mind and the flow of wind while we walked, I noticed all of the new cafes down the town street, and of course, our one old cafe we used to visit all the time. Their smoothies and sandwiches were my comfort food growing up here, which we definitely would revisit tomorrow.

Me and Leena got to the semi-secluded area and we found a nice spot to just sit and watch the night take over the sky. It was times like this when Leena either dropped either the biggest piece of backstory I never heard, or gave me the best advice. Sometimes both.

"You know, now that you're old enough, you're probably gonna find a summer fling here" She punched my shoulder lightly, giving a laugh and a smile at me. "This is where I met my first fling."

Dumbfounded, I looked at her, "You never mentioned this??" It was inevitable that she would have one, but we hadn't gone here since before the fame... When she was my age.

"Yea he was really cute," She said, "Sometimes I wish that summer hadn't ended so soon. He was really a great guy. I would have definitely kept in contact." She looked up at the clouds starting to roll out, emitting a small light from the revealed stars. I wondered if this was where I would meet my first... Fling sounds too bad. Maybe... a change? A girl would definitely be a change for my life, you know, considering the circumstances.

"...Why didn't you?" I saw a twinge in her eye as she looked at the shoreline.

"...It just wouldn't have worked out... you know... with the distance." I could see her eyes get dark. "But hey, this is still a good spot nonetheless. You should definitely come here in the morning when the sun rises on the shore. It's really beautiful." I could tell she was trying to sway from the previous topic, so I let it go. But would the thought be gone? Hell no.

"You gonna come with me?" Came out of my mouth, but it was more of a rhetorical question than a real one, because I knew she wouldn't be getting up until her usual 10 A.M routine time. She side eyed me and nudged me again, bringing her smile back and brightening her eyes.

We sat there, just talking about our lives, with some advice being thrown out and not a lot of backstory. I didn't wanna pry into all of it after that long car trip. Lucky for us, we got a call from the house telling us it was too dark and we should have been back ages ago, blah blah blah, the usual lecture.

We made it back for dinner, and being so tired, we all went out separate ways. With my batman pjs on and my fan on blast (as always down here), I started to think about what was gonna happen in the next few months. Would Leena be right about me meeting a fl... change?

My thoughts wound me over, and soon enough, I fell right to sleep.

I woke up the next morning pretty early. My watch read 5:46 A.M and put one thing on my mind, the sun rising out on the beach. Let's test Leenas theory and see if it really was that gorgeous.

I got dressed, putting on the usual shorts and t-shirt, forgetting shoes because of the sands though, but as soon as I walked out I knew I wouldn't need them. The sands were still warm on my feet even after being without the sunlight in it for so long, and it made me wanna keep walking to the spot. I still felt dreary as I got off the boardwalk, noticing the stars still out in the sky. My legs almost took me to the shoreline but I knew it was just me being too eager to wait for the feeling of the cool water.

I thought about what Leena had said the night before, about the boy she met. Why was she so sad about it? I mean I guess they would have to break contact at the end of the summer, but it didn't have to be that serious. He's just a boy she knew for what, two and a half months? That's nothing. If I met someone like that here, I don't think I'd be that upset about it. She'd just be a girl, who at this point, probably knew me. The one thing I hated about the whole "being famous" thing.

I looked at my surroundings. The seashells just waking up as the sun rose, the waves crashing on my feet, and the grass swaying with the breeze that gave you a chill up your spine... Although, I don't think this was just a breeze.

I turned to look in the grass behind me and noticed a girl sitting on the sand dune me and Leena sat on the previous night. Probably just another person watching the sunrise. I gave her a quick smile and turned back, watching the sun rise higher into the horizon.

The sun definitely took its time, because it was halfway up and I was ready to head back to the house.

I turned back to the boardwalk and saw the girl looking into the distance. I wondered if she was here for the same reason I was, but whatever. I was too hungry to think about it. The sight out the house and smell of eggs was all I needed to get through the day. I ate some and honestly, me and everyone just relaxed in the heat of the day until the three of us kids decided to visit the town.

I knew all of the old people that were still here from when we were babies would recognize us, but there was a lot of new people so I wasn't too sure how many old people there were left. I won rock paper scissors to pick where to go first, and I chose the cafe we used to visit on special occasions when we were younger. It was a this tiny secluded building in the middle of town that was so unnoticeable you could recognize it from anywhere. We all loved the croissants and drinks they had there, especially Tanner with his sweet tooth.

We parked almost right outside and walked in, hearing a little ring from the door bell.

A girl got up from her resting position and looked up at us.

"Hi welcome to Beach Bloom-!" She paused when she saw me. We made eye contact.

It was the girl from the beach.

A/N: YESYESYES this plotline is legit what I have been DYING to write for so longgggg I just needed to figure out how to string it together. Anywho the photoshoot Mr. Scobell here was just in has me ON THE FLOOR it looks so good. ALSO the next chapter, I'm having the perspective switch to third person since it's the hardest for me to write with, because a challenge is good! Hope everything is well for everyone. Thanks for reading! <3
