Chapter 9

Later that afternoon, Sofia walked to the Fairy Godmother's office and knocked on the door. When the door opened, the Fairy Godmother appeared and Sofia warmly smiled at her.

Sofia White: Fairy Godmother. Can I come in for a moment?

The Fairy Godmother looked up at the girl and nodded her head. Sofia walked inside the office and stood in front of the Fairy Godmother so she could ask her to do something important.

Fairy Godmother: Of course, dear. What is it that you need?

Sofia just smiled meekly and then spoke.

Sofia White: Well... since Family Day is coming soon, I was thinking... that maybe we could do a video chat for the Isle students... So they could see their parents as well.

Hearing this, the Fairy Godmother smiled at the princess.

Fairy Godmother: Sofia, you have a heart of gold! That is a wonderful idea! I'll make the arguments.

Sofia White: Thank you, Fairy Godmother. I think they're going to love this.

Sofia curtsied politely and walked out of the office back to her dorm room.

The next day, the Fairy Godmother strolled up to the four Villain Kids with a smile. Thanks to Sofia's suggestion last afternoon, the Fairy Godmother decided to host a video for them so they could talk to their parents because the villains were still imprisoned on the Isle of the Lost.

Fairy Godmother: Children, excuse me. Um, as you know, uh, this Sunday is family day here at Auradon Prep. And because your parents can't be here due to... uh... distance, we've arranged for a special treat.

She walked over to a TV monitor on a cart and clicked a keyboard. A grotesque shot of Maleficent filled the entire screen.

Maleficent: I don't see anything,...

The evil fairy backed up from the monitor to reveal the Evil Queen, Jafar and Cruella.

Maleficent: ... nor do I hear.

Fairy Godmother: Kids!

The Fairy Godmother beckoned the four friends to the TV. They obeyed reluctantly, with Carlos carrying Dude, who was dressed in a jacket. Maleficent started to shake the monitor a little.

Maleficent: Is it... is it... is...

Jafar: Press enter.

Maleficent then got frustrated with the computer and turned to the Evil Queen holding a remote.

Maleficent: May I see the remote?!

The Evil Queen handed Maleficent the remote. Maleficent pushed buttons on the remote at a dinky laptop but nothing worked.

Maleficent: Is this thing on? Ugh, It's broken. Ugh! I hate electronic equip...

She clicked away at a remote and threw it down. The screen turned on and it showed the Fairy Godmother with the four teens. The Evil Queen was happy and excited to see her daughter and how beautiful she looked, waving her hand at the TV monitor to say hello.

Evil Queen: Oh, Evie! It's Mommy!

Evie waved at the TV monitor, feeling slightly embarassed by her mother as she looked at her friends.

Evil Queen: Oh! Look how beautiful. Oh, you know what they say: "The poison apple doesn't fall far from the tree".

Cruella chuckled. Maleficent rolled her eyes at the Evil Queen.
