Now you may be wondering why I am doing a school related thing in the middle of summer vacation. Well i have a younger sibling who is entering high school this coming school year and he had a lot of questions for me. I am going into my junior year of high school. So I thought that I'd do a first day of freshman year section in this book. Here are the top 5 to help you prepare for your first day of high school.

1) make sure you have your schedule near you for a few days: At my school we have four blocks a day and sometimes you have classes that are across the school. Your schedule should have room numbers and teacher names on it so you know where to go. It will also show you what block/period you have that class. During the summer post your schedule on instagram or text your friends to see if they have the same classes as you so you know who is in your class. Also memorize your schedule quickly.

2) Expect to get lost: Now most people tend to get lost on their first day of high school. Because you are in a new building and there are a lot of older kids going to class and you might be scared of the seniors. If you do get lost go to a teacher or find someone that you know.

3) Do not be scared of the seniors: You may have heard people say that when you're a freshman the seniors seem scary. The seniors are not scary. They are really nice and they will help you if you do get lost. Eventually you will be a senior in high school. I would say look up to the seniors because that's where you'll be in four years.

4) Organization is key: Be very organized in high school. Have either a big binder or a binder for each class. Have notebooks to take notes and do homework in. If you're messy all the time you'll lose things and you don't want to lose things when you're in high school because it could be something important.

5) Join clubs: There are so many sports and clubs that you can join. For example, I do cross country running, outdoor and indoor track, and jazz band. Towards the end of your sophomore year you can apply for NHS, (AKA National Honor Society) and other honor societies. I'm in NHS and Tri-M. Tri-M is a music honor society. Joining clubs is not just fun it also looks good on your transcript for college.

I will do another 5 things to help with your first day of high school later in the summer. Closer to school. I hope you enjoy!!
