'Too many people miss the silver lining because they are expecting gold.'

"Well it's late and I am exhausted. Vernon, show her to the guest bedroom." Seungcheol said.

Silver haired Vernon looking slightly caught off guard, gives a small eye roll and proceeds to walk towards Maya who is still sitting on the couch.

"Just follow me." He stated.

Maya getting up, still a bit lightheaded from whatever they drugged her with, took one last look at the three men before quickly following Vernon.

He walked through the dimly lit hallway of the mansion, his footsteps barely making a sound on the plush carpet. He moved with a cold efficiency, his expression as unreadable as ever. He wasn't one for small talk or unnecessary pleasantries.

Maya followed a few steps behind him, her gaze flicking around the lavish surroundings. The mansion was a world apart from the cozy café she was used to. Everything here was extravagant, from the ornate chandeliers hanging from the high ceilings to the intricately carved wooden doors lining the hallway. The air was heavy with a sense of wealth and power, and Maya felt a shiver run down her spine.

They reached the end of the hallway, where Vernon stopped in front of a large, double-door entrance. Without a word, he pushed one of the doors open and stepped aside, gesturing for Maya to enter.

"This is the guest room you'll be using," he said, his tone clipped and formal. There was no warmth in his voice, only a distant professionalism that made it clear he was just following orders.

Maya hesitated for a moment before stepping into the room. The guest room was more like a suite, with a king-sized bed draped in silk sheets and luxurious headboard. The walls were adorned with tasteful artwork, and the floor was covered in a thick, luxurious rug that felt soft under her feet. To one side of the room, a set of French doors led out to a private balcony, offering a breathtaking view of the sprawling gardens below.

A small seating area was arranged near the fireplace, with a plush velvet sofa and a pair of armchairs. On a nearby table, an empty crystal vase to hold a bouquet of fresh flowers. Everything was immaculate, from the polished wooden furniture to the shimmering gold accents that added a touch of opulence to the space.

Vernon remained by the door, watching her with a neutral expression. "You'll find some old clothes in the cupboard. The bathroom is through that door," he pointed to another door on the far side of the room.

Maya nodded, feeling a little overwhelmed by the grandeur of it all. "Thank you," she said softly, her voice barely above a whisper.

Vernon didn't respond. He simply gave a curt nod before turning to leave. "Don't even think about leaving this room."
