The early morning sunlight streamed through the large windows of Café Amore, casting a golden hue on the polished wooden floors.

The air was filled with the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee, mingled with the faint scent of vanilla from the homemade pastries

The air was filled with the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee, mingled with the faint scent of vanilla from the homemade pastries. Maya, with her brown hair tied up in a loose ponytail, moved gracefully behind the counter, her small stature making her appear almost delicate amidst the bustling energy of the café. Despite her petite frame, she exuded a quiet strength and confidence, her feminine features softened by a gentle smile that rarely left her face.

The café was a cozy haven in the heart of downtown Seoul, with its warm lighting, comfortable seating, and walls adorned with vintage Italian posters—a subtle nod to Maya's heritage. She misses home, but remembered there was absolutely nothing left for her there.

The cafe was the kind of place where people came to relax, read, or catch up with friends over a cup of coffee. And Maya loved every bit of it.

She carefully poured steamed milk into a cup of espresso, her hands steady and precise, forming a perfect heart shape on the surface. "There you go, Mr. Kim," she said with a smile, handing the cup to a regular customer who always ordered the same thing—a cappuccino with extra foam.

"Thank you, Maya. It looks perfect, as always," Mr. Kim replied, his wrinkled face breaking into a warm smile.

Maya watched him walk to his usual spot by the window, feeling a sense of contentment. She loved her job here. It was more than just making coffee—it was about connecting with people, making them feel welcome, and being part of their daily lives.

Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the café's doorbell chiming, announcing the arrival of her best friend and co-worker, Aera.

Aera was a whirlwind of energy, with her bright eyes and infectious laugh that filled the room. She had been Maya's friend since she moved to Korea, and they had been inseparable ever since.

"Good morning, sunshine!" Aera called out, hanging her bag on a hook behind the counter before slipping into her apron. "How's the early shift treating you?"

Maya chuckled, wiping her hands on a towel. "Busy, but you know I love it. There's something so peaceful about starting the day before everyone else."

Aera rolled her eyes playfully. "You and your morning Zen. I don't know how you do it. I need at least two cups of coffee before I'm even human."

"That's why you work at a café," Maya teased, handing Aera a freshly brewed cup. "Here, your morning lifeline."

Aera took the cup gratefully, inhaling the aroma deeply. "You know me so well." She took a sip and sighed contentedly. "So, anything interesting happen this morning?"

"Just the usual," Maya replied, leaning against the counter. "Mr. Kim came in, ordered his cappuccino, and I think I saw Mrs. Park taking home another box of cookies."

Aera laughed. "She's addicted to those things. I bet she hides them from her husband."

Maya grinned. "Probably. But who can blame her? They're pretty good."

They chatted easily, the conversation flowing naturally as they worked side by side, taking orders, preparing drinks, and sharing stories. The café slowly filled with the morning crowd—students, office workers, and the occasional tourist drawn in by the cozy atmosphere.

As the hours passed, Maya felt a deep sense of happiness. This was her world, a place where she felt safe and loved, surrounded by people who appreciated her. The hustle and bustle of the café, the laughter she shared with Aera, and the simple joy of making someone's day a little brighter—it all made her feel fulfilled.

She didn't need anything more than this. Her life was now simple, but it was hers, and that was enough. As she wiped down the counter, Maya looked out the window at the bustling streets of Seoul and smiled to herself.

She was happy, truly happy, and she wouldn't trade this life for anything.
